Yeah, I used to do that quite a lot of FM11. Only really works with top players though, who your Chairman believes would be important signings.

 

It's always been like that. 3 stars generally being good enough to achieve your season expectations, and any higher than 3 stars meaning they are basically capable of playing for a better team. Schneiderlin has 4.5 potential now because he is capable of one day playing at a higher level than Saints currently are. If you get promoted, his potential will be 3/3.5 because you are at the level his potential deserves to be playing at.

For example, if say Jack Stephens was playing for AFC Telford, he would have 5 star potential because he will clearly become a lot better than the other players at that level. If he was at Man Utd, however, he would probably have around 2 star potential because he will never quite be good enough to play at their level. Simple.

 

Yeah I know that its just people getting excited that Schneiderlin has a 4.5 potential which probably equates to a "good premier league player" which isn't that great imo

 

Well on FM11 he got pretty damn good. I've won the league with him in my team. On another game where I wasn't playing as Saints he went to Lyon and did very well. He ends up with stats similar to someone like Darren Fletcher.

 

Ward-Prowse and Shaw look fantastic.

Sat 3rd in the league, made no signings either.

 

Him and Lallana were usually the 2 players I keep hold of the longest until my team is full of made up wonder kids from Brazil I'm in 2024 on my longest save on FM11 think I sold Schneiderlin to someone like Everton on that one around 2015.

Quite liking the new one atm, will take a while to get used to the new layout though. Tshabalala and Tasic look awesome

 

Yeah when I won the Prem with Saints it was just Lallana and Schneiderlin remaining as regulars, though Harding was still 2nd choice LB! Re-signed Walcott as well. Ahmed Khalil was up front and he scored something like 40 goals. His partner was Ishak Belfodil and he got quite a few as well.
