He was well off the pace today and didn't even bother chasing down, he should have been hooked at half time but understand why he wasn't since he can turn a game with one pass.
The cup game will be interesting, Matip could be back and maybe Jiota. Totally different dynamic for Mancs, at home, different tactics. But they had Cavani and Greenwood to bring on up front and we had .....Origi. Big overhaul needed this Summer
He never got into the game as you were punting it over his head and not going through midfield.
His tactics today were mystifying. A draw is a better result for you than them, but they were there for the taking today imo, but he changed your set up to try and negate them as opposed to trying to take the game to them.

Whilst trying to avoid too much change in the summer, and frankly why would we given the last 2 seasons, it does appear we've stood alittle still especially in attack.
Granted theres a fair amount of bad luck with the injuries to the CBs and just as Jota was putting pressure on the strikers. But the front 3 have stalled and don't seem to be as effective but the real problem is that there is not much to replace them, so they keep playing.
I also question the future over the 'always injured' group, Keita, Ox, Shaq, Matip etc. Yes they can be good on their day but if they're imjured for half the season every season, whats the point? Its Sturridge all over again.

Missed opportunity for us to get to the top. They were so anxious and defensive in the first half and we had many chances that should have put us out of sight.
Yes they played a bit better in the second half but we should still have beaten them. I can’t see them being a threat for the title but we need to get back to our old selves sooner rather than later.

We really need to find our spark again and that may mean some harsh decisions , at least in the short term , so shake up the line up / front 3 .
Since Fab is now on 3 bookings can we all pray fervently that Matip is fit once he gets to 5 .
Thought OGS was gutless as with a bit more adventure they would have won imo

You've had two great seasons, now you are back to your old selves
Guys its not a bad result. It keeps us in the top 4.
We are taking extra touches all over the park but in the front 3 and at crossing time its killing us.
That one extra touch allows sides get set or get the block in.
We did alright for 35mins. A good showing but shaqiri was blowing and thiago faded out of it. Give them 5 games more and they will improve.
We ripped the midfield apart to not play williams and honestly with 7 offsides in the first half or something clearly it worked on that level.
We are not buying a cb so this is our lot until/if matip can get any fitness.
If the forwards and fullbacks would stop taking those extra touches we might get to the ball first and score.
Oh and a special place in hell is reserved for robertson if he EVER scutters another tame ball wide at the near post again. What a great position wasted.

Firmino can't shoot, can't pass, can't press. He's useless out there.
Salah just doesn't seem to get involved much.
Mané gets on the ball a lot and in promising positions, but that's about it. Barely gets any shots in and doesn't link up with anyone.

Watching the game in a packed pub full of united fans (very annoying), I have the same view as before. We are missing the CB play from a progression perspective. When we are being forced to play two of our best midfielders at CB we will struggle. Put Henderson in that midfield and you will see a different Liverpool. Without our switches from CB a big part of our play is affected and teama have noticed as much and are asking us to break them down whilst closing spaces in the middle.
I do not know if there are good defenders available, but if our plan is matip will get fit we are facked. Klopp has shown if he doesnt have a player to sign he will not sign one for the sake of it but we really need help at the back. Failure to address it may turn into a massive mistake as the race is very close,

Seems to be that whoever gets to the top spot suddenly turns **** this season.
The next few weeks will tell us more. One thing is certain: we cannot afford to drop more points. Or we could face something inconceivable a few days ago: finish out of the top 4.
Klopp has to decide what he wants. If they’re not going to buy a CB then they need to play at least one of Phillips or Williams or both in defence and put Fabinho and Henderson back into midfield alongside Thiago. It’s quite obvious the detrimental effect not having these 2 playing where they should be is having.

I could see us outing fab at CB long term now tbh. He’s looked as good as any other CB out there and with him in midfield allows you to play Thiago in that DM role. Add in Gomez had some dodgy form the since the lockdown a year ago and coming back from bad injury might be a while before he becomes first choice
Let’s wait until the end of the window before we second guess anything. We’re hardly going to tell the world that we’re desperate for a player, so let’s just see....
