That's how it works in an ideal world Kempton. without the biases and the bullshit and the fact that the majority of people actually running football have not got a bloody clue. David Beeby FFS. What a complete ****ing toss pot that bloke is. He has ****ed up players contracts from arsehole to breakfast time repeatedly.. This is who we entrust this to. Players have to make a career out of football and we have a regime that are nothing but Ehab's arse lickers,.
There are usually contracts involved preventing players simply sacking off their agent. You can't just walk out of an agreement without becoming liable for compensation.
Spot on. Agents are there to protect clubs. Agents help the players. You never hear of an agent being criticised by players either do you?
He did say that, but I think he considers Crowley as a forward. I thought today was actually one of Grant's best interviews. He was on the front foot, you could tell he was pretty pissed off but I quite like it. I loved the comment when Burnsy asked him what he likes about Crowley, 'he's in the top 5 expected assists last season in the championship, and the other 4 are currently playing in the PL'. I've been concerned about these last few games, I really don't think the squad's in a good place. We've had a number been badly affected by covid, we're playing without a fit striker, we've had Eaves getting injured (which is a blow), we've had a recent Honeyman injury too, lost Adelakun and now we've got a Burke red card to handle. I know and understand 1 win in 7 ain't good enough, but the reinforcements are coming. Whyte looked excellent, we'll have Flores available soon and Crowley should be one of the best players in this league. If we can throw in a decent striker, obvs we're trying then we'll be fine.
I'm encouraged by the incoming. Feel the club are at least having a go, unlike last January. Was impressed by Whytes debut as he'll only have had a couple of days to familiarise himself and hasn't played much. Crying out for reinforcement up top though. Josh clearly isn't where he was before covid. Wasnt much wrong today. The sending off turned the game, though the ability to finish sides off when we're on top will be the difference between automatic and playoffs.
I think people forget, especially with us being mid-Jan, that we still aren't halfway through the season yet. There's an awful lot of football to be played in a short space of time and clubs with weak squads will falter. I look at our rivals and I'd be amazed to see Lincoln stay top, they've got no depth at all really, neither do Donny or P'Boro. Striker wise, it's always going to be extremely tough to get someone in. I think if we do get one we'll end up with somebody like Niall Ennis, he's had a bad spell at Burton but had a decent one at Donny. Wolves are looking to sell. It's not the type of signing I think supporters would be excited by but would be a solid addition. Got 6 goals and 3 assists for Donny last year in 30 games. A skilfull, pacy forward and different to what we have
The first thing we should be looking for in a No. 9 IMHO is a kingpin to bring the wide forwards and attacking midfielders into play. Goals from the central midfield 3 have been lacking though which may or may not be remedied by the new signings. A fully fit Magennis and match-fit Eaves (a seemingly rare commodity) will do that at this level though 8-10 goals in addition to those qualities in the remainder of the season would be a real boon to our promotion chances. I get that's its easier said than done though, especially in January and with a cap in place, but perhaps some clubs feeling the pinch of covid might just be willing to sell when in normal times they wouldn't??
Actually looked into Ennis a bit more. Would fit the bill a lot for us and is expected to be signing somewhere permanently next week. Donny really liked him and Darren Moore assumed he'd get a championship move last summer. My biggest disappointment this year is Scott and Mayer, but especially Scott. They've provided no competition at all on the wings. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mayer go out on loan if we can bring in some reinforcements.
Think Mayer has something but is going to take time to adjust, both to the pace and physical nature of the new league and in settling in to a new country and culture. Get the impression he was a relatively inexpensive wildcard signing anyway, not necessarily key to the overall planning. Scott doesn't look like a million pound player though. Wonder if he's ever really recovered from that first injury he got when he signed. Still young but hasn't yet come close to living up to his billing. Samuelsen has flattered to deceive since coming in also. Perhaps the lack of genuine competition out wide has led a certain agent to assume much greater negotiating leverage than would ever have been anticipated by the club? Still, it takes 2 sides to create a Mexican standoff though, and unfortunately the future of a promising young player looks to be held in limbo by a battle of ego's. Shame on both houses. I think I'd rather see a key contract signed than another midfielder coming in, but feel another No 9 option is absolutely key, even if only on loan. If only 'beast' JP was still playing, or a 38 Y/O Deano laying the ball off left and right.... Someone like Madine would work well, but we seem allergic to signing experience, Smallwood aside.
The KLP situation is causing a lot of problems IMO, the players who are playing must know they’re only playing because KLP won’t sign. KLP must know if he doesn’t sign, then he’ll be on his way, I wouldn’t be surprised if the club aren’t making other clubs aware of his availability even now. Having said that, with everything that’s happening right now, there’s not the same amount of clubs willing to throw money round on an L1 player. Most Championship clubs who would usually be considering a risky punt, will probably be waiting until the summer, 1. To get a better deal on a kid going into the last year of his contract. 2. To see where football is in the overall picture of the World. So that would leave PL teams to potentially come in for KLP, realistically, the ones at the bottom aren’t interested in potential at the moment, the big clubs already have better, so it’s probably the 3-6 clubs in mid table, will they need a kid from L1 who might be good in the PL, will they risk a few million? Probably not.
If I was KLP’s agent, faced with a situation where my client had been told he won’t start another game as it triggers a pay rise we put in his contract but won’t now honour, I’d be looking for a new club for him as well.
I thought we were very close in terms of a contract with Keane, and you can see the football club is making a commitment about tying the younger players down to longer-term contracts,” said McCann recently. "I think we're there financially, but it is the years. We wanted to add another year onto his deal, Keane and his agent don't want to do that." It’s the agent I know everyone’s blinded by allamhatred and no doubting ehabs a **** But this is the agent and that lads a fool for going along with it
Yep. Someone with good movement. A natural goal scorer. Really quick. Sort of like a young L1 Jamie Vardy. Now let me think, who do we have ......
‘For his part, Lewis-Potter wants to stay at the club but feels like he is being strong-armed into signing a deal he doesn’t want to sign, and does not feel is right for his career. Ideally, talks would resume at the end of this season with a view to extending a deal which was only signed in February 2019 and still has quite a way to go. Lewis-Potter is understood to have support from figures in the City dressing room who are sympathetic to his difficult situation, and supportive of him’. I can tell you that the last paragraph is un understatement, the players are disgusted by what what’s happening to KLP and they obviously know what’s going on.
Players don’t give a **** about others And they’ll only want to know what he’s on so they can ask for more. you’re just going to ignore the manager saying financially ok it’s the year! the boys an idiot and he’s proving it So get rid of him now
Not sure that's the sort of No 9 we need. It hasn't worked with Eaves and it's not really working with Magennis. Both would be billed as 'proper No 9's'. Doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result is madness (or naivity, stubborness, ineptitude in our case). It's clear that the way McCann wants us to play is to get the ball forward quickly. That's part of why we have limited possession, why so many passes (forward) go astray and why we rarely string more than a couple of passes together. Probably better to have a really pacey forward with really good movement and a real eye for goal. And leave him up there rather than bringing 11 back. Now, where do you get one of those sort of forwards from ......
Imagine this... You're a player that isn't represented by management. You're out of the side, wanting a "fresh start". A club contacts you, but you're training with your current club. Do you get your Mum, Wife (or Boyfriend) to take a message, "he'll call you back when he's finished practicing headers & volleys" ? Football is a fast moving business, demonstrated perfectly by the contracts agreed in the final hours of transfer window. Interested club moves on to next target, who they can discuss transfer arrangements with, whilst other target continues his keepyuppies... Agents get bad press because of the %'s they earn. Many clubs value them for being able to move players out, freeing up salary budgets.... They're part of the game.....
Yesterday... the Sky pundit at the game said, 'two really different styles of play here, Blackpool get it forward straight away and Hull are much more patient'... On KLP, I wonder if one Steve Bruce is watching with interest....
