Maybe hansen was meaning because Suarez was signed in January and has had 8 months longer than the rest? I suppose from that outlook you can say Suarez was the best. His record wasnt very good though. 2 goals or something like that.

Have to agree with this. Rooney is currently the best player in the league full stop. Suarez is playing very well and is in the next bracket with the likes of Aguero, Silva, maybe Mata. The only player to come close to Rooney in the last 2-3 years is Drogba in our double winning year. Plus Suarez is a cheat. See World Cup. Unforgivable.
We get the same thing with Arsenal. Common denominator, all their players are meant to be better but they win nowt. Wierd.
Silva is currently the best player in the league. That fact he's just won player of the month helps back that up...
Rooney lacks in so many of the areas Silva excels in. The only thing Rooney is better at is scoring goals, considering that's his job as a striker that's hardly surprising. Silva's awareness and movement and ability to make things happen in half a yard of space makes Rooney look like Fletcher.

Rooney is not as technically gifted but I'd take him at Chelsea over Silva any day of the week. Ronney has much more than goals. Aggression, leadership, good in the air, tracks back. Silva has to do a lot more over a sustained period before I believe all the hype just yet. This is a player that was good but hardly setting the world alight in Spain...or Barca would have had him.
