One of my doctor friends was saying precisely the same about the need for a more coordinated global effort on vaccination. Suggested listening to 'How To Vaccinate The World' on Radio 4 - I haven't got round to listening yet, but there's a tip there for you.

Just catching up with this thread - just wanted to add my voice as well Libby. I’m also living in a flat on my own at the moment and struggling the same as you. It’s the dark and the cold on top of the isolation isn’t it?!

Drinking seems to be the only fun thing to do at the moment for me too - you’re definitely not alone and we’re allowed to feel a bit **** for a while. But we will get through it. If we ever get out of lockdown maybe we should all arrange another not606 meet-up at a saints game, I didn’t manage to make the last one but I’d love to see you all in real life.

I'm pissed of with joggers. Whenever I go for a walk they all seem to come out for their daily run on the pavements puffing and exhaling enormous clouds of breath and glare at you as if to say get out of the way I'm coming when the come towards you. They make no effort to move over. I'm convinced the selfish bastards are the biggest culprits spreading this ****ing disease.

I went for a walk this morning, and what did I see? Herd of sheep, no social distancing, large group of them and not a mask to be seen! It's selfish bastards like that that are causing all this to go on.

So you can't sing in church and when a few thousand people could watch a match they couldn't cheer or sing and yet you think its OK for some selfish jogger to run by you without making any attempt at social distancing and exhalling great clouds of hot breath into your breating zone is OK.

<laugh> “Exhaling great clouds of hot breath into your breathing zone”?

Really? How often does that happen? Never happened to me.

About a dozen teachers who are doing Dubai on their way back to Kuwait tested positive yesterday. All the dummies went to brunch together and now are in government controlled isolation. I despair at humanity.

This morning I contacted some of my team who are here and in plain words told them that they’ve only got around a week left so don’t do anything so bloody stupid!

A bit of feed back on the Pfizer vaccine, from my friend working for an NHS Trust.
I said that she had received the first dose 4 weeks ago, and the only side effect she reported was a sore arm.
3 weeks later, in accordance with Pfizer’s recommendations, she received jab number two.
Side effects this time were massive headaches and a loss of energy for 3 days.
Four GPs were so badly affected by their second jab that they needed to take sick leave to recover.
But the positive point is that they have been FULLY vaccinated and should soon be at maximum immunity.
