Honestly I think it could go either way, because with Trump desecrating their sacred ground (and, yes, this is genuinely how much of Congress feels about their turf) it's possible a few will be willing to send a message

Will it be enough? Who knows, but I am printing up the "Mike Pence: FOUR MORE DAYS" t-shirts just in case...

There's some interesting stuff circulating about possible insiders helping to set up the coup attempt.
If the news goes badly for the Republicans on that front, then they may feel it's better to turn on Trump.
I think he's safe as it stands, though. Romney will be joined by a handful of others this time.

I slagged the BBC off for this before, but they're doing it again, so I'm going back to it.
Here's another piece that's claiming to be what Real Americans™ think about Donald Trump's 2nd impeachment:
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-55656995

"Belinda is an attorney and devoted Trump supporter of Native American and African American ancestry.
She says this second impeachment vote is wrong and misconstrues the facts of what happened last week in favour of political expediency."

She's also a member of the Republican National Lawyers Association and ran for a Senate seat in 2006.

Gabriel Montalvo is the Northeastern Regional Director of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly, according to his own twitter profile:
    https://twitter.com/Baron_Montalvo?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author
It's also one of the top search results for his name: https://rnha.org/team/gabriel-montalvo/

These are not random people off the street or even well-informed voters.
They're interested parties with an investment in the outcome.
    ****ing ****ty reporting.

This is the same **** they do on Question Time, for example introducing...this took ten minutes of Googling...Adam Rickett as an actor, while failing to mention he was on the A-List for prospective Tory candidates at any point when he was on the panel

    I have a suggestion

Since last April, they haven't included figures for Scotland
Since last week, they haven't included figures for Wales

I'm guessing the Tories have decided to not include figures for England, either...

Labour's shadow home secretary Nick Thomas-Symonds called on Home Secretary Priti Patel to take responsibility for the error and be clear about the impact it had had.

"She must urgently make a statement about what has gone wrong, the extent of the issue, and what action is being taken to reassure the public. Answers must be given."

    <laugh>
Someone's going to get a proper shouting at from a very testy woman.

Let me get this straight: the Dutch cabinet made a single mistake, which caused unnecessary stress and hardship for people, so have offered to resign en masse?

Has anyone told them that they can make countless mistakes which cause unnecessary stress, hardship and death but simply carry on as normal? Because that's how our government operates
