eh? surely for every team that scores from a corner, there must be an identical number of teams that concede?

Think he is referring to breakaway goals after defending a corner.

Me dad and uncle turned back at the Cambridge as well, they said there was just a sea of people going down Roker Avenue. They said they thought it was too dangerous to try to get down there. I think I read some people died in the crush.

Loved a bet. Often used to see him in the bookies up from Roker Park.

I envy lads like you who lived in the area and saw things in a different light.

We'd drive 137 miles, have a drink, go to Roker and set off home after the game ...

... we hadn't a clue wtf was going on tbh.

But we loved it and still do.

Probably badly explained but I mean teams scoring on the counter attack.

I eventually ended up along Fulwell Rd and half way down Sandringham Rd before giving up, the game had started by then and the gates had been closed, one of the gates in Hamden Rd Clockstand gave way and my Uncle was swept into the ground, he saw the match for free, but he lost his shoes in the process, as did many others and at half time all the recovered shoes were laid out on tables under the Clockstand. and he ended up with two odd shoes neither of them his. some night that was, I think there was heart attacks reported that night but cant be sure.

I remember trying to get in. We were in a crush in a back lane before escaping, thought we were going to die. The back wall of a house was demolished by the crush.

It’s a horrible bloody feeling when you really think you are going to die happened more than once to me but 99.9% of the time you end up having a pint and laughing your socks off.

    It's really weird at Spurs.

So easy to get spare tickets in their sections and usually loads of tourists and neutrals ...

... but occasionally you'll have a little group of nutters from the bad old days.

I was in their section for the last game of the season which was a meaningless 'fancy dress' day out for us and just a laugh.

For some reason they wanted trouble and hasselled everyone.

I, to my own credit, took three of them on and wiped the floor with them.

Still proud of that as they started it outside their own pub

Looks like Derby in big financial trouble and having to loan more money from the Americans. As great as it sounded them coming here are they not just looking to exploit clubs with high interest loans?
