Antoine Hamelin is being overshadowed in Hong Kong by his countryman Badel, but could have his first winner of the year on...

Plenty of Cheltenham pointers at Naas today with a small but select field in the novice chase and then potential Ballymore or Albert Bartlett horses in the Grade 1 novice hurdle.

Energumene and Ashdale Bob my tentative picks.

Very! I thought they were going to end up running down the cameraman at one point!!

That winner is running in the 1:00 today - Sublime Heights for Toby Lawes

This horses point to point form (that video) looks decent enough and it makes him of interest on hurdles debut for his new yard.

So a quick look at the form -

2nd - Grozni - 2nd in an Ayr bumper (8 1/2 length ahead of the third!)
3rd - Great Ocean - 3rd to Percy Warner next time out in a point. That form looks fair enough!
4th - Paddy The Wire - Won Catterick bumper after running 4th in Limerick bumper. Had a poor run in a P2P prior to that too.

So whilst the form isn't of the level of some of the top Irish points, it looks very solid for a Wednesday at Plumpton! He has since been through the sales ring - https://www.goffsuk.com/sales-results/sales/november-p2p-sale-2020/19 - where he went for 35k. - well worth a look at the pictures & videos

He now starts off for Toby Lawes, the former assistant to Nicky Henderson, who had a nice winner in a bumper this week in these illustrious colours of the Wates family, most famously carried to Grand National glory by Rough Quest.

13/2 looks a fair price, and i've backed with BOG.

One of my favourites, if only he had stayed a furlong further he could have been a special horse.

He was diagnosed with an atrial fibrillation.

After that he ran again (won) and everything seemed normal. According to Henry De Bromhead his heart is controlled before and after the race " we keep monitoring his heart and hope that it doesn't happen again. It's something we are keeping a constant eye on and it's something that will be checked before and after he runs".

From RP " A similar ailment to that with which Denman and Sprinter Sacre were diagnosed".

A good solid start for him under rules, finishing second to the impressive Foxtrot Racing winner (why didn't Stick buy into that one?!!). He has an unusual action and was pretty keen in the race but he jumped well and showed a decent level of form on racecourse debut. One for the future for his trainer.

Shame about Ashdale Bob, on a line through Gabynako he would have been clear with Bob Olinger as expected and would be the new fav for the Bartlett, thats jump racing, hopefully not injured and gets another chance in the 2m6 race.

Amateur jockeys stopped from riding, so hunter chases are for professional jockeys and other amateur races removed of that status. A sad day for the forums favourite corinthians.
