Geordie in peace, Obviously we had a last ditch knock back from Ruiz and you lot took the spoils. i haven't heard him get much of a mention so far so i thought i'd ask directly. have you lot been impressed by him?
He's obviously made quite an impression then? or are the good people of Fulham just more shy than their cockney counterparts?
Jury is still out. Hes still getting used to the premier league, and as cannot play in the Europa League, its difficult to intergrate him into the team. Subbed off after 45 against city. Played the end of QPR, and looked decent- good touches, vision and pace. However, he started off life looking overwhelmed by the pace of the premier league, and lost possession easily. We will see.
we've fallen foul of big money and big name imports being brought in and failing to adjust. he's quite light weight so it might take him a while to get used to the bustle.
He gets bullied a bit at the moment but shows glimpses of quality. Will take a bit of time to get used to the tempo of the game but i think he will come good soon.
He's not really had the game time to form that much of any opinion, about him. He seems to have a very good left foot that the ball sticks too and will be good to see him run at defenses. But I do remember Steed Malbranque taking some time to settle into the Premier, before becoming one of our best signings. He himself has said the games he has played in have been fast, in Holland he was allowed two touches to control and maybe only one defender to beat, here the first touch is crucial and before you know it you have two defenders on you, so he needs time to adapt.
We can't judge him yet. He needs time and there is a lot of competition at the moment. Unlucky for him that we got knocked out of Carling Cup. That would have been a good way to get used to the team and football.
I think he will come good. His first game start was not good but IMO he it was too soon to start. He is coming on now 10/15 mins to go and adjusting to the pace of our game. He has shown good quality but it is far too early to comment properly.
I said I'd give him 5 games and so far he has had two proper games i.e. not coming on with 10 mins to go. 1st he was woeful and second he missed the penalty that sent us out of the League Cup - so a bit of a Norman Wisdom of a debut. I will still not judge pass any further judgement on him until he has had his other 3 games. I was expecting a slightly more premiership ready striker for that sort of money - like Suarez, really, although with not quite as instant an impact, to be fair.
It's top know what to make of him. A lot of money, but I have some hope that MJ knows exactly what he's doing!
