If some guy makes his sandwiches in Newcastle before setting off to drive across Europe. How long do you expect them ham sarnies to be edible?

I don't think any of the truck drivers will be working 24/7 in Europe, so even if they spend £20 a week, it's still not going to be a grand... I'd imagine they were already spending money at service stations across Europe and nailing the large majority of their food before they got out of the UK.

 

There's some proper materialistic types on here. They'll never be happy as they'll never be satisfied. Money is no replacement for a contented life.

 

Interesting question. Assuming they are well wrapped and put in a place that doesn't get too hot, away from any heater vents, then I'd be quite happy to eat them after 12 hours. Probably still would after 24 hours in the winter. On average you're looking at 15 to 18 hours depending on other factors such as how long into the trip before you ate the bag of crisps. And whether you bought any Wine Gums at the service station.

 

2 days and you can put them in a Brevill sandwich toaster

 

This is more complicated than I expected. I never factored in what fluids the driver is necking, either. If it's a fizzy drink and he eats his wine gums and crisps with them, he's going to be pretty full and then the sandwiches won't be appealing for quite some time.

Toby sounds like one of these people who goes on holiday for a week and prepares sandwiches to eat for that week
