Kind of related is that the BBC are dropping some of the broadcast rights for the Football League next year, there won't be any live games any more and I think I am right in saying that highlights won't be put on the BBC website (please correct if wrong). Also the bid from Sky was quite a bit lower than before which means that TV payouts to clubs will be down.
I was gonna start yet another thread but thought best to tack it to this one. But similar to QWERTY's above, whatever happened to the regional BBC footie program usually late on Tuesdays...more on just your "local" teams?
A top Premier League team rolling into town is a slightly bigger story than a League One team rolling into town.
Tbf, you could stretch the point and say that anyone watching TV at any time, for any reason, doesn't have a life. There's certainly a case for it. I went out sailing all weekend, just gone by. I could have stayed at home and watched QI or something, and not had a great experience going round the Isle of Wight. Most of the time it's the singular inability to get off one's sorry arse that is the cause of bums on seats in the first place. But there you go - I suffer from it too.
To be honest - 95% of my television watching is sport, but obviously according to you guys watching television means I don't have a life. Maybe I should quit my job, leave my family and then spend thousands of pounds travelling the world to watch Formula 1, the Ashes, the PGA tour, US open, World Cups and Champions League matches etc. Would that mean I would have a life then? Please clarify this point.
If that is all you could manage to fit in then I am not impressed. All teasing and joking aside the comments about telly watching were directed at people whose only activity is telly watching. Nobody would suggest for one moment that you take the drastic action you have suggested. Your comment suggests that you have recognised that the comments made by others took a ridiculously extreme view and you are quite right. Live the life you want son and ignore sanctimonious pricks who suggest otherwise.
i would like an apology from all of you that slagged off meridian tonight. Just tonight there was the hard hitting story of the man who has had the same washing machine for the last 50 years. This follows a story, not 2 days ago about the WI and jam making. Full proof that meridian tonight get in there where it hurts to uncover those all important stories other news programmes are not brave enough to make. There are still another 8 months of the football season to go and i am sure Sfc will get a mention at some point. Not for there progress toward the premier league but through some fan who collects enamel badges and pins them all over his hat.
If you mean LATE KICK OFF, well for a start, it was on late Monday nights, and secondly, every series started the Monday after the first Saturday after Jan 1st. So don't give up waiting for it yet.
