Troy being a bit controversial here - calling on BoJo to shut down football during lockdown. Perhaps unsurprisingly, given that it's the Daily Fail, reader comments are so far less than flattering. But I do think he has a valid point. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...T-football-Covid-messaging-contradictory.html
Funny because people have been moaning they are playing , being paid in full and being allowed to do their job without many limitations.. “How come they can play when I cannot see my Grandmother “ or “why are they allowed to carry on but schools have to close “ etc No doubts from the same folks who are writing some quite strong abusive stuff there actually you wouldn’t get away with elsewhere ! I doubt many people even read these articles- just the headlines and comment. Disagree by all means but what being “black and thick” has anything to do with this I am not sure ? Are only white and clever people allowed an opinion then ?
Anyone get a phone call ? https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/n...ions/?action=success#comments-feedback-anchor The club have done very good work off the pitch doing this crisis to help others .
“On Tuesday night, Jose Mourinho was having a touchline bromance with Brentford manager Thomas Frank,” says John Parker. “On Friday, Frank was revealed to have tested positive for Covid. In the real world, Mourinho would be legally obliged to self-isolate. On Planet Football, Mourinho is in Crosby." Taken from the report on the Marine v Spurs game. Certainly double standards I would have thought. On a wider view, How is 'local' legally defined in the Covid regulations again? 5 miles from your front door step? 30 minutes drive maybe? Or is it not defined, and left to personal interpretations, which vary widely? The whole system seems shambolic to me, but then I was told exactly how far I could wander from home and for how long each day.
The main argument for playing on seems to be having football keeps people busy and good for their mental health . Not sure that is true this season for us !! I mean Celtic were allowed to go to Dubai on a mid season break ... And now all their squad have to self isolate after COVID cases.
So probably mid quoted , taken out of context and the rest . I would have thought it was quite good he was in touch with the normal person saying footballers have to be the same as everyone else in looking after themselves and not seeing themselves as all important. Seems to be getting stick for saying he'd rather health and safety came first before his job.. Just because he gets paid a lot doesn't mean Troy cannot worry about his health and that of others. I suppose its all Liverpool fans again - let's hope this time if they win the league they can stick to the rules when celebrating if the current guidelines are still in place.
Once again the club rewarded for their great work off the pitch in the community. https://www.watfordfc.com/news/news...ed-level-of-premier-leagues-equality-standard
Our match away at @stokecity will now be broadcast live on @SkyFootball , kicking off at 7.45pm on Friday January 22.
There is giving confidence then there is being kind of delusional!! I mean it’s good to be positive but you need to be realistic too .
