I’m new to this term ‘woke’, sorry, so I don’t really understand the last two comments. Said in peace, I truly don’t understand. I’ve had the woke thing explained to me on a Christmas Day zoom meeting by my sister, but I’m not really sure if I’m included in that or not?!
    I like the quote, btw.

BLM are a bunch of Marxist agitators at their core. It is a sorry state of affairs when genuine bona-fide concerns over racism, be they perceived, institutional and obvious, are brought into focus by a group that have a set of ideals that really do not work however noble the intent.
My take is that there are a lot of real problems around the world but that they are mainly manifest most recently in the supporters of the mango mussolini across the pond (BLM is an American based organisation) - and we know that when 'Murica sneezes, we catch cold... make no mistake as to the sort of people we have running the country now.
Furthermore the commentary is always "in support of the BLM movement" when, actually, Colin Kaepernick was (rightly imho) taking a knee on the issue long before BLM reared their heads and forced their way into the limelight - they certainly shout loudest, so theirs becomes the mistaken narrative. The cycle needs to be broken but whilst we have a popularist right wing media dictating the content we're not going to get anywhere, certainly not when the all too obvious shortcomings and logical fallacies of being "woke" are laid bare.

I do wonder what Nelson Mandela would have made of today's situation - a convicted Marxist terrorist who upon release preached unity, reconciliation and gave hope rather than confrontational politik and punitive action.

    My tuppence worth, anyways....

It's the new term that rightwingers call anyone who cares about others. It's an all-encompassing term, could include Greta Thunberg, all students, Labour voters, environmentalists, vegetarians/vegans, non-racists/xenophobes, Remainers, feminists, etc...

Presumably, I am ‘woke’ then. And glad to be. All of the above except Labour voter (left because of Starmer et al).
