I would agree, the flu vaccine is actually the scientists best guess mix of the various vaccines m, you can see the Covid one being the same

After the 'get out and eat' and 'Have a merry Christmas' shyte ...

... we're now heading for an even more severe lockdown than before.

Cue, blaming the public for everything.

In leafy Surrey every mortuary is full and corpses are being stored in industrial units.

So much for 'it'll all be over by Christmas'.

The total dead is now officially over 80,000.

And the worst isn't even here yet.

I've had another 2 lads message today to say they are not working next week as they don't feel it's safe on site, so I have the delight of being shouted at by another project manager tomorrow morning who is only interested in getting his flats water tight

All viruses mutate but the spike protein seems to be changing quite a lot with the Covid mutations. I'd imagine the guys producing the vaccines will have to start working from data where the virus is at 6 month previously so it will probably be about 50% - 60% effective like the flu jab.

People are entitled to put their safety first.

If 80,000 people had been killed by bear attacks no one would leave their house until the bears were eradicated.

But because it's an invisible bug people are seen as cowardly, by some, if they're scared.

I'm more scared of this than I would be of a bear ...

... I'd give myself a decent chance of escaping a bear attack, if I get Covid at my age I'm probably another corpse.

Really don’t know tbh. It was so long ago now and life has pretty much returned to normal for WA that I can’t remember. Also, being an essential worker life was pretty much the same for me no matter what so I just went into work every day.

I'm not ashamed to admit the thought of catching covid scares me. Pretty sure if it didn't kill me it would have a bloody good go, especially with my family history of heart disease, diabetes etc.

Probably what frustrates me the most, me and my family follow the rules yet you see hundreds of people taking the piss

People here, in SW France, are really good at observing the rules and berating anyone who doesn't.

When I watch the UK news it's shocking as it's so different to our village.

I can't understand, for example, why the BBC has two commentators, a woman interviewing players and three people analysing the Crawley game.

    Were these journeys essential ...

    ... were they f**k.

The game would've been just as good without them.

How do they get permission to travel to non-essential work?

I'm pretty sure they are classed as "essential"

    They're not though.

Why can't those three analyse the game in the studio?

MOTD was just as good, better imo, when there was one commentator and no analysis.

Just football matches without ex-pros 'hilariously' joshing each other about their careers from 30 years ago <doh>

I agree with you. Seems that every time I look at the UK news there is always a report about police having to break up a party or an anti lockdown protest. And when people are fined they complain to the media and get public sympathy. This virus won’t be controlled until everyone is singing off the same hymn sheet.

Sadly the tone was set badly from the start, with the refusal to mask up and stop shaking hands, and the PM's defence of Cummings made people think wtf ...

... the constant changes in message have just confused and demoralised the public.

No excuse but the government were complicit is all of this.

I know it's difficult to compare countries, but I look at Australia and New Zealand being pretty much back to normal and wish we had taken a hard stance way back last March
