    Hi. New to the forum and apologies if it’s been covered but does anyone know if there is a resolution with the American loan?

    May as well pipe down with your concerns, not like it does any good for people to be told to expect to be shat on when they're finally feeling good.

    Apart from what you're saying everything looks very positive and it sounds like it'll be official soon.

    Totally agree, but wouldn’t have mentioned it if I wasn’t concerned... if it’s done by next Friday 15th I’ll be buzzing, if it’s not I’m going to be slightly (****ing massively) anxious!

    Sounds as though SD gas been playing up in the back ground. Will the stories come out once it's complete?

    I've got no idea. The Americans have wanted to buy us throughout. Probably still do. Trouble is they thought they'd end up getting us for next to nowt thanks to the loan terms. Had Donald not sold they probably would have done. The loan was massively in their favour though, so if anyone else buys the club I'd be amazed if they kept it in place where theres an option to get rid. If I was KLD the first thing I'd do is pay it off. So I don't think anyone knows, but I'll be amazed if he let's them keep a fairly restrictive loan that Donald only took out of desperation

    I suppose the issue is that eventually you can have too many billionaires! I'd rather have one with full control than two with 50%! He might keep the loan tbf or he might renegotiate it, but it was really, really loaded against Donald, so I doubt the likes of KLD would keep it when he could afford to pay it off! I'll be honest, from what I heard about fpp I wanted them, but I think kld sound good as well so I'm not complaining!

    Agree with what you're saying GG but the loan is probably of little concern to LKD as he can afford to pay it back whereas MSD would have known that SD couldn't.

    The only thing that would possibly make it important is if the interest payments etc are sky high

    Yes, I suppose you can have too much of a good thing. Let's just hope KLD can turn this monster around

    So one of these people is passing on information then? I wouldn’t have a clue who you think it might be, but seeing as how it’s the January transfer window, I’d assume that LJ has probably taken a few to one side and suggested that they might want to look for a new club either now or in the summer. In other words, sour grapes.
    As for PR/media - it’s their job to spread disinformation man. Maybe not to the extent of Donald Trumps media machine but still. 31D9849D-87C3-4B61-92D4-20FCDB674CE3.jpeg

    @EvilJimmyKrankie.
    Some big decisions on what to do with the names on that list. Interesting times.

    Out of those on that list, I’d keep Hume, O’Nien, McGeady, Diamond and Willis. Only because they actually seem to care. The rest can go jump off the Wear Bridge as far as I’m concerned.

    I think I mentioned earlier in thread that MSD/FPP use Blackrock as one of their major investment franchises (KLD mothers fiancee is vice chairman) so maybe there is a link in there somewhere for future investment or part ownership. In truth the plans for the club could be a lot more interesting and bigger than we all seem to think at the moment as first priority seems to be promotion but am fairly sure things are about to get interesting

    I genuinely don’t know how we’ll be able to. We’re limited to an average of £1,700 per player. O’Brien is rumoured to be on £8k and Grigg on £10k. That’s over 10 players worth, just on the average, taken up by them. Doesn’t leave much (or any) room for paying anyone else over the odds which all of those players would demand.

    From next season you can’t deregister them from the squad and have them not count towards the wage (a la McGeady this year), no other team will take them off our hands and Johnson has implied that paying up players contracts if we were so inclined also counts towards the cap.

    In short, we’re screwed. At least we’ve got a load of class Academy products to circumvent the u21 rules. Oh no, we chased out our golden generation for pittance. It would have been class having the likes of Hughill, Mumba, Pye and Luca Stephenson to call on next season.
