The way I see it is blame for the events is squarely on the shoulders of those who acted illegally rather than on those who had to police it and it's elements of both BLM and Trump supporters who are guilty of that. What I do see is those who have left leaning political persuasions kicking off about Trump supporters and those with right leaning political persuasions kicking off about BLM supporters, while both deny that their own supporters were in any way to blame. The way that it was policed isn't an issue for me, it's the behaviour of some protestors that is.

Always amazes me how people think that a civilised debate can occur when discussing politics.

To be fair there's no reason why their can't be.

It's quite simple as long as people who's views differ respect the other persons opinions and argue the points rather than attack the person.

I guess the other way to look at it is that seeing as politics is deemed civilised then any debate that occurs in which ever form is a result of the creation and therefore in itself civilised also.

What amazes me and is very prevalent on this forum, the art of debate is a dying social art..as soon as one side perceives to be losing the argument /discussion it collapses into personal abuse.

I find it impossible when there is such a lack of coherent thought.

You will be talking about how Trump isn't the kind of bloke you'd leave your kids with one moment and all of a sudden the argument will be that there are Albanian ****phile drug dealers ruining the UK.

This is an actual example of something that happened recently. It's not exaggeration.

You just can't argue with that.

Slightly off topic, in a perverse way I will miss Trump.

My morning routine whilst having breakfast is to browse various UK newspapers headlines and BBC news etc.

Since the advent of Trump I have been looking at USA news outlets to get their take on what outrage amusing act or tweet Trump has done. I doubt he will fade quietly into the background...but reading what his latest stupidity has been will have less interest. Especially if he is impeached as I think that means he cannot stand for office again.

There's been a few arrests now but I was stunned when I read what the sentencing can be. In the case of Richard Barnett, the lad with his feet on Pelosi's desk, if he is convicted "he faces a maximum penalty of one year in prison. Actual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties." I read this in a news article and thought it can't be right but it is. Genuinely thought there would be bigger sentencing for that kind of nonsense.

I noticed that his Golf Course in New jersey has just been withdrawn as the venue for the PGA in 2022. Hope he thinks this stunt at sedition was worth it as I would bet no corporation would do any business with anyone connected to the Trumps in the future...way too much of a risk for their brand now.

The **** thing is his, his bastard children who've been with him every single step and enabled him throughout, well they will do just fine.

Didn't Ivanka make something like $40m during his time in office?

I know what you're saying, I guess they have enough to live on now...all I am saying going forward, no major company/corporation will associate itself with the Trump name, be it Donald, Donald Jnr or Ivanka ( Who I would by the way) also that creep Jerrard Cushner is also a no no for companies wanting to protect their brand

I have been saying for years that Trump should end up behind bars where he undoubtedly belongs. Surely now even his previously most ardent backers must feel the same.
