Never tried biltong but quite like the sound of it. Gonna make one of these bad boys next week and have a crack at it.
Surprised at that tbh, used to love grabbing a bag of biltong on my way home from a piss up at 4am. Some of its fukin lovely tbh, some can be too tough
I'll lob a bag of this in my pack when I go off for big rides. Good protein boost and it's nice and light too. A million miles better than a sarnie or a scotch egg
Prefer jerky to biltong, for the ones I’ve tasted anyway. Once tried making my own, it went miserably.
Yeh man some of it can be tough af. Prefer the stuff you can actually chew and swallow after a few seconds
I used to work with a SA bloke on the markets who makes his own, it's ****ing lovely stuff but top dollar. He also used to make Boerowers, fry up some onions and stick it in a bun with his South African sauce. Those bad boys were ****ing bangin and used to fill me up for about 10 hours. He's opened a restaurant now, but I daren't go in there as I'd probably leave about 2 weeks later carrying an extra 5 stone.
