I suppose it'll be to limit any chance of spread while they can trace any contacts and test them. 3 days should be enough time for this.
Moderna Covid vaccine approved for use in UK. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has accepted the recommendation of the Commission on Human Medicines and authorised the Moderna vaccine, joining jabs made by Pfizer and AstraZeneca. The UK has ordered an additional 10 million doses of the vaccine, taking its total to 17 million. Health Secretary Matt Hancock said: “This is further great news and another weapon in our arsenal to tame this awful disease. “We have already vaccinated nearly 1.5 million people across the UK and Moderna’s vaccine will allow us to accelerate our vaccination programme even further once doses become available from the spring. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/health/moderna-vaccine-approved-uk-b759400.html

112 positive test results in EFL testing Testing programme involved 3,507 players and staff from 66 EFL clubs who are involved in FA Cup or league action this weekend; Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul and Brentford boss Thomas Frank among confirmed cases.
Can't get much clearer and simple than, and yet the government and all their experts managed to word it like this "The Transport Secretary (inset today) has said nobody will be able to depart to the UK by plane, train or ferry unless they present a 'recognised' test result on check-in along with a valid passport and visa if required" Anyone giving that a quick glance or speed reading could easily think you need a negative test to leave the UK.
a pal just texted apparently on tv this morning they said if you hang around vaccine centres at the end of the day you are likely to be given the jab due to not wanting to waste it after people not turning up.
they'll probably only give it to deserving cases, pillars of the community etc such as football players.....
I think this is unlikely, if it looks like there's going to be excess vaccine left, there's a system in place to rush in hospital staff.
68,053 new cases and 1,325 deaths, the highest figure ever recorded in the UK since the start of the pandemic.
