We are where we are on this due to inept, indeciseive and ineffective government .. but they are not doing that deliberately ... what the **** do they gain by wrecking the economy?

The most effective worldwide responses have come from countries where strict lockdown were imposed early... and where populations took heed of the lockdown rules and the proper medical advice underpinning them ...

What would've happened was that Hospitals wouldn't have been cleared of CV19 patients and put into care homes resulting in 50% of the deaths in the "first wave".
What would've happened would be that cancer screenings would've taken place and the 40% of cancer beds would be full of patients getting treatment.
What would've happened would be that the 30k excess non-CV19 related deaths at home would not have happened as folk wouldn't be scared to go to hospital and overwhelm the NHS.

So, I'd argue that there would have been less deaths that there were/are. One thing's for sure, no LD, no masks, no restaurant closures in Sweden has not resulted in the 100k deaths Imperial College predicted in March.

Lockdowns are an affront to a free people. China is not the example to which we should seek to replicate. Australia and NZ, both island nations miles away from hundreds of millions of people may have been successful in delaying transmission by Locking down but I'd argue that it was not required now we know why we had a spike of deaths.

I really don't understand why people want to be locked down now we know what it entails. Wales have been locked down for months and cases keep rising. It either does **** all or the testing regime is ****ed, more than likely, both.

 

Weird that the CCP aren't allowing the WHO in to investigate?

I'll guess we'll just have to take their word for it that they beat the virus and went back to normal.

I've worked throughout the pandemic.
I was playing football throughout the pandemic.
My kids had people over to our house throughout the pandemic
My kids and I visited my mom and dad couple of times a week throughout the pandemic
I cycled all over central belt Scotland with my son, bro-in-law and nephew throughout the pandemic
I have not worn a mask bar one flight during the pandemic and been on 7 more flights without a mask (pretend I'm exempt)
My 15yo son goes to school without a mask
My daughter works in a restaurant and doesn't wear a mask despite working directly with the public.
I had 15 folk up at ours for xmas
Had another 15 folk at mines for the Old Firm game including my dad who is nearly 70....

I have not had CV19, none of my kids, none of our elderly relatives, none of my kids pals, not my wife, despite living in the one of the highest transmission rated places in Scotland.

Perhaps I am extremely lucky, probably immune though.

The rules of life used to be expose yourself to germs to build immunity, now the opposite seems to be true.

I don't know of anyone who 'wants' to be in lockdown ... I suspect the UK population wasn't too chuffed about being in WWII and getting bombed by the Germans either ... but there are times when following governmental rules saves lives ... and a huge factor in the current crisis is selfish ****s putting themselves above the common good and thereby enabling the virus to spread exponentially...

When we were wee boys we used to roll about in all sorts of ****e, not wash our hands before sitting down to eat.

Baz is right, this is what built up our immune system and none of us had viruses (or should that be virii).

Now everything is anti-bacterial this and that and people are obsessed with cleanliness. Same with anti-biotics which are dished out willy nilly for any reason whatsoever. Now every **** is susceptible to viruses (virii).

The last lezzer doctor I saw said that I should think about stopping smoking. I said she needed to lose a couple of stone at least the fat rug muncher. She didn't like that at all.

What annoys me is people that say they need an antibiotic for any illness they have. It baffles me that so many people don't know that antibiotics aren't taken to combat viruses. ****ing idiots.
