Good Morning. It's Friday 8th January, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road. Anderson - All three Leeds targets not available this window Soccer Journalist Dave Anderson has disclosed on his twitter account that Leeds are looking to fill three voids, but the players they want are not available during this transfer window! It's fair to say that the Daily Mirror journalist is one of the more reliable of the Fleet Street tabloids, though, with three weeks left until the window slams shut, plenty can happen in the interim. We know that Bielsa is looking for a central midfielder and a backup for Bamford. I'd imagine that a left back would be high up on the wish list too, especially if they were also able to deputise at centre back. We have also been told that the money is in place, but will only be spent if it will improve the quality of the starting XI. It is likely that Leeds will activate the agreement they have with Manchester City to permanently sign Jack Harrison for 10m. Manchester Utd have told Daniel James that game time will become even more restricted with the imminent arrival of Amad Diallo from Atalanta. Surely, he'll go out on loan, but Leeds already have more than their fair share of wingers! Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday were also forced to shut their facilities earlier in the week, with many more games expected to be postponed. They are joined by as many as 15 football league clubs who have had an outbreak of this deadly disease. It is the seventh day in a row that there have been more than 50,000 daily cases. Is it time for another complete shutdown on sporting events? Meanwhile, Leeds Utd have become the first Premier League club to offer their facilities to help combat the Corona Virus. Currently The Pavilion is seen as an ideal location for vaccinations in the north of England, given its location and size. It is capable of holding 2,800 people. please log in to view this image
Morning all Firstly Anderson at the Mirror knows nothing and has actually told us nothing but got a headline and story out of it which said nothing at all. For a more reliable insight: Kone will not be joining Leeds as he is signing for Gladbach in Germany and for only £8m. The next biggy is that Liverpool have entered the fray for Rodrigo De Paul? If true something may happen but would mean Liverpool must sell someone from midfield. We already know that Udinesi have refused to sell De Paul until the Summer unless a massive offer comes in. We also know Tomori isnt on our wish list, Puig has signed a new contract too, so I make that 4 players out of the picture including Mateta, that we were supposed to be interested in. Yes Barcelona may decide to loan Puig out but I know for a fact that the kid wants to play in Spain and would need some enticement to come here. The only player who actually makes sense right now is Erick Pulgar and everything points to him leaving Fiorentina
Wonder what peoples views are on this: WJ and I predicted earlier in the week that Jordan Stevens was going to be recalled from his loan to Swindon Town and he would be going to Bradford. Well Jordan signed for Bradford last night but in the Swindon local newspaper an interview with the Swindon manager has caused issues. Stevens signed for Swindon in the Summer and was a big hit, scoring on his debut and winning the game, then creating a winner in the next game. He was a regular starter. Results tailed off and the manager was sacked and our own John Sheridan took over. Sheridan obviously doesn't fancy Stevens so sat him on the bench. Leeds announced we had recalled Stevens, but Sheridan has said Stevens was lazy and need to get some fire in his belly, and said he needs to man up and should be proud to be a Leeds player. My view is that John Sheridan was a hero of mine as a player he was pure class. As a manager hes been shyte and had about 20 jobs failing at all of them. So maybe he doesnt fancy Stevens as a player because hes a shyte manager who cannot recognise a decent player. On the other hand I agree with him on getting some fire in Stevens belly. He got minutes for the first team last season. Did he think he had made it, or did he think he was too good for Swindon?
Just been reading what the BCFC manager has been saying about Jordan Stevens. He says he has been watching closely whats been happening at Swindon and been asking Leeds to recall Jordan. He said Stevens has the pace and power he has been looking fir and is a direct player who can hurt teams. He thinks this is the most exiting signing the club have had in years. So lets hope Jordan takes this opportunity and does himself proud, because to get back into the Leeds set up he will have to shine on loan. Seems to make John Sheridan look a twat too
Obviously there only me playing on here today for some reason Well here goes, but just been reading an interview with Poveda and one thing stood right out when he was asked about players in the squad who stood out as being a bit special. He said the player that impressed him the most was Diego Llorente as he was powerful skilful and a real baller. Reality is that we suspected this was the case because why would Bielsa want him if it was otherwise. Pity we havent seen him yet
You mean Huffer as Heffer is a cow not a keeper That means 4 kids from Leeds academy at BCFC Hosannah Stevens O’Connor Huffer
So Llorente and Cooper are now fit but not expecting them to feature on Sunday. But that has to be great news from now on
So hopefully we’ll have either Llorente or Struijk available to deputise for Phillips at dm against Brighton, and one of those alongside Cooper at cb, allowing Ayling to go back to rb.
Hearing that Bamford has compared Raphinah to Angel Di Maria, which is brilliant and probably close to the truth on pace and skill level. Also hearing how much of a cnut Rio Ferdinand is. He is quoted as saying top Champions League players will refuse to come to Leeds because Bielsa would work them too hard. Yet we have players like Llorente, Raphinah, Koch and Rodrigo all from top 5 world best International teams, and all because of the pull of working with Bielsa. Ferdinand you have gone down in my estimation and talking about Bruno Fernandez would never sign fir Leeds, you are a loudmouthed cock
The 'fire in the belly' comment resonates with me. The terms I always used to describe him were lack of heart & consistency. Consistency usually evades a youngster, no matter who he is, so he can be forgiven for that - but not for the lack of heart. He has all the tools to be a great footballer, but unfortunately, I don't believe his head works right, for whatever reason. But you have to expect that with kids. Someone within the club recently (Bielsa?) stated that you'd expect at least 50% of Academy kids to fail. There are more deserving cases than him, moving forward. Hope he does well at Bradford & we get a few bob for him.
Ferdinand cannot go any further down in my estimation. He's scum through & through & takes every opportunity to remind us. He is dead to me. Still.
Jack Clarke had fire in his belly but inexplicably suddenly lost it for some reason. Luckily Spurs didn’t notice till after they’d given us 10 mill
