England VS France: Winner - whoever players the least worst! England have had a shocker and really don't deserve to have got this far I've wasted my Saturday morning shout in shear frustration at the TV, France have not been a lot better either. Ireland VS Wales : Ireland. This is the pick of the quarters for me both team playing really well and a real tough one to call. The Irish second row has been unstoppable so far, breaking the line going forward but more importunately causing mass disruption in the break down. If Ireland slow the ball down at the break down they will win, if Wales manage to get quick ball and keep the game fluent they stand a great chance also. New Zealand VS Argentine : New Zealand. Argentine have pulled themselves out of the also rans into a top tier of Rugby over the last 7 -8 years but a bridge too far. New Zealand's only problem being the loss of Carter but still way too much in the tank for Argentina. South Africa Vs Australia : South Africa. Aus have really struggled up front which is not a good sign when you come up against the probably the most Physical packs in the tournament. Having said that Wales nearly took SA, and still Aus capable of pulling this out of the bag.
Vale, all good points. Your comment on the Ireland Wales match is spot on and is pretty much what i have said all week. IMO we are slightly stronger at 45678. Not in individual positions but within the second and back row as a group. If we control here we will deny wales quick ball to their backs. If Wales match us at 45678 (which they easily could) then Ireland will be in trouble with the pace Wales have. IMO England will beat France only if their kicker is on song. JW or TB or a combination of both will have to nail every chance they get. France will be very dangerous on the break but the English pack will more than hold their own. The English need to keep the scoreboard ticking over and if their kickers continue to miss they will not win this match.
france will slaughter england with no problem, i dont think england have played well and when they come up against a proper rugby team they will be found out....
I'm not so sure mate as France have been muck too. The french are fighting with themselves and their manager. Never a good sign. It looks like they would fight with their own shadows. England know how to win tight matches. They have proven this before. Lets hope that the real England and France show up on Saturday and we get a good match. Whats your thoughts on our match? and where did you get all these great young players from all of a sudden.
Johnson to me is a rubbish coach, he was a brilliant player one of the best but as for a coach then there are far better for england, I cant see him guiding england past the quarters. NZ will win this tournament with ease, they are head and shoulders above anyone else. Wales look the more likely out out of the home nations and are producing their best rugby at the right time but even that would not be good enough to beat NZ..
latest odds ireland 1.64 v 2.22 wales england 1.53 v 2.45 france australia 1.75 v 2.10 south africa NZ 1.02 v 21.00 argentina these odds are from australias biggest bookie
While on paper everyone agrees with this but NZ have choke in quite a few World Cups. Even kiwi's have load of jokes them choking in the World cup. Still hope for all everyone else but slim hope. What do you can call 15 men watching the World cup Final ? The All Blacks.
What do you call a NZ player with a world cup winners medal------Grandad. Sorry Kiwi!!! Come on the northern hemisphere.
Good start by the Welsh. Good try. Long way to go though. The fact that the city where the match is being played is named after an Irishman (duke of Wellington), might be an omen. Hopefully.
Well done Wales, hearty congratulations. Good luck in the rest of the tournament. Ireland will be shouting for you.
Well done to Wales. The best team on the day won. We had loads of the ball but could ot break your defensive cover. Hope you go the whole way guys. Well done
Cheers nuts, I thought the winner today will make it to the final. Just glad it's us! Feel bad for BOD and co as they have been top class throughout their careers and most have seen their final chance slip. The so called youth beat experience, and the Welsh now have the experience of making it to the semi's ......and the rest is in their hands.
