Governments, around the world, can't agree on the ideal shape of bananas mate ...

... but these mentalists think they can conspire to inject tracking devices into everyone's arm <laugh>

Why subject the Greenlanders to them? Send them somewhere where they can only infect themselves.

I guess over here I'd be carting them all to Tasmania.

    Those people deserve it.

White Island in NZ is pretty nice most of the year round. Think the natural beauty and local attractions would suit the nutters

Do you think its the dawning of the Internet and various social media platforms that have increased the number of nutters/conspiracy/anti vaxxers.

The CEO of the NHS said some nutters wander around a Hospital late at night, if they see an empty corridor, they take a photo and then post it saying hospitals are not busy.

Or a couple of blokes I know will argue that the changing climate is not at all due to the pollution we cause. They find some piece of outlier evidence against the impact of humans, to fix on and say see I told you so. Of course all the usual culprits of changing weather are still in play.. our pollution just adds in another factor into the algorithm, as it were, and makes it worse.

There are also some 'sock puppets' fake news going on at the moment saying electric cars do not reduce pollution etc. Those behind this 'news' turn out to be oil companies and car manufacturers. Similar to the cigarette companies a few decades ago, putting out 'research' showing tobacco was not harmful. Or that idiot quack a while ago saying the MMR caused problems for children.

Misinformation is dangerous.. look at the USA and the assault on the Capitol. Or the very unwelcome issue of the rise of measles killing kids.

I think it would be a good idea to let them spout the s hit they like and then not give them the vaccine when it’s available the country would be better with them cremated.

I think that the huge variety of sources of information that are now available make it easier to spread misinformation. I find it really annoying, because it is so dangerous, that people can spread what are essentially lies.
I've just seen on Twitter someone saying that Stanley Johnson getting his second Covid jab "epitomises the rank hypocrisy, cronyism and elitism of this Tory government". It doesn't matter how much you hate the Conservative Party or Stanley Johnson, this is just bollocks. Plenty of people have had their second jab, despite the move to the single jab policy, because their appointments were already booked in. This is spreading misinformation, it helps no one and only ramps up discontent and anxiety.

The torries are bound to be getting all the flak and so they should they are in government and frankly nobody gives a flying about the Labour Party anymore they are about as useful as the Lib Dem’s.

I agree with you, but give them flak for stuff that is actually their fault. Stanley Johnson being one of many people who haven't had their second jab appointment cancelled isn't their fault.

The ones I feel sorry for are the children who do not have in inoculations.. and get ill..or die.
A less serious issue of ignorance. A while ago I was involved as a governor of a high school and some parents did not want a phone mast on top if the school... cos radio waves etc were dangerous. Utter nonsense as even an elementary understanding of physics would inform you. That £20,000 from the mobile firm meant we could provide more support to some of the special needs students.

Having said all that, I do not think science is the be all and end all, doctors a few hundred years ago, used to put leeches on a patient to drain blood as supposedly this got rid of the illness. Although, maggots are now used to clean up infected wounds. So evidence, outcomes and peer review is important. All drugs have side affects, but say Jehovah Witnesses refusing blood transfusions to their children makes me furious.

I agree mate, social media means stuff can be spread faster than ever and sites can turn into echo chambers very quickly. Then you get confirmation bias and quickly shut out anything that doesnt agree with your view.

The best analogy I have is if your house is on fire, to get it under control and put it out the last thing you'll do is throw more fuel on it, just because some loon says so. If the majority say you need to spray a lot of water on it and get anything combustible out of the way, you do it. Someone might say leave it, it'll burn out and they might be right, but you might have no house left at the end.
