Not directly to do with SFC but couldn't really put this in General Chat as this does not effect the whole country. Has anyone else noticed that since it moved to Maidstone how crap the Meridian Tonight programme has become? This is supposed to be local news but now just seems to concentrate on Kent and East Sussex so why the f**k do ITV bother to show it in our area. Yes it shows our local teams but not local news. Having said that about our teams it had a preview Brighton v Liverpool in the league cup the other day not a thing on Saints v Preston in the same competition. You could have a major story in our area like the major gas leak at Winchester Hospital the other day nothing on the programme but some meaningless story in Kent that means nothing to us in our area makes it. I used to think it was a very good programme and used to love to watch Fred Dinage congratulate the Saints on a good performance but now the programme is just Pointless. Anyone else agree?

I'm in West Sussex but I've only ever seen a few Sussex based news items. Kent seems to have the lions share for some reason.. I'm a bit surprised at what you say as I always thought there was a separate news program for Hampshire.

I don't watch the telly any more it was much better in my day. All you get know is dross. I don't even bother with the football programmes.

I use the Iplayers to be ultra selective.

I think their was. I must admit i can only get it through for some reason and I live in Poole but it all Kent through Sky

Hey, Hey wait a minute from a Kent man i am more than happy with Meridian tonight.

Fascinating stories coming out of kent such as the woman who got a bill from british gas for £3,000 and she doesn't even have a gas supply.
Romantic stories like the couple who have just got married, 70 years after they first met, went their seperate ways during the war and then have now had a chance meeting at bingo.
Then there is the kent man who dressed his dog up to look like Elvis. PRICELESS.

If those hard hitting stories arn't enough then there is Fred Dinenage - you thought john westwood was the most annoying skate - think again

Well you could be down the pub having a drink and a chat with your friends, you could be at a nightclass doing a bit of self improvement, you might have taken your beloved out for a meal, you might be reading or listening to some music, you might be tuned into the radio listening to 5Live while you are preparing supper, you might be at the opera/theatre/gig/match, you might be playing scrabble, you might be pusuing your hobby or some special interest in other words you might have a life.

On the other hand you might just be making annoying contributions to threads such as this one.

So let's get this straight, low and behold anyone who watches television before 9pm because if they do, they don't have a life, ok...

Anyone remember Day By Day with Barry Westwood and Trevor Baker..? That was Southern Television, and pretty much the last time I watched 6.00-7.00pm commercial TV on a regular basis. ;)

Let's be honest you've got to be a bit of a sad lonely old soul if you watch telly before 9.00pm.

Well that era would have been in my youngest years, and I would have probably just finished my homework, had my tea, and was just letting that settle before venturing outside to play a bit of football on the green in front of our house. It was that long ago. Sort of late 1960's. ;)
