I agree with that. Disappointed to see him go but 12million is a lot of money. I wish him all the best. He is far from being the only great talent we produce. You get us wrong. Those of us who see things realistically have absolutely no problem with our academy players going to 'bigger' clubs on large transfers if that is how the chairman/player decides. Our gripe is the manner in which Wenger (et al) spouts off to the media to unsettle the player without going through the proper channels. Only once they see they have unsettled theplayer do they come in through the official channels. Then he has the arrogance to complain about Barcelona doing the same with Fabregas!!! Can't have it both ways So good luck to AOC. HAve no problem with Arsenal or any other 'bigger' teams enquiring about or players. Have no problem with them buying our players whether academy or senior however start to be honourable and contact chairman about it without trying to unsettle players through the media first. And I always say 'should've' not 'should have'. Never say 'should of'. (he says knowing he will probably without thinking at some point in the remainder of his life) Good luck to Arsenal. In 5-10 years time you will be ahead of Chelski and Citeh down to buying young players and not throwing £20m and uber wages at seasoned stars. It was intentional I can assure you, well on this occasion at least! It is an old returned habit. You see he missed it though, well spotted!! The number of times I had been put into detention for writing those silly mistakes. It started at 50 times then a hundred then an added hundred each bloody time. I think I got up to about 800. In my exam year I got it right as I did for my A's. Would you believe on my application for a commission in the forces, in my application essay guess what I put? Yes, it was highlighted in bloody red pen too. We even exchanged jokes about it at the board interview. The bloody words haunt me they truly do..... Oh Just get in the queue everyone......who's next?
This is what gets to me the most now when i think of AOC,you won't even know that he was at southampton for 10 years,as far as everyone's concerned it'll be Wenger has unearthed another gem,sick of it to be honest.Everyone saying we got good money for him,i don't care! neither did Cortese,he wanted to see the lad progress at Saints and as per usual we don't get to enjoy these players that we invest so much time in.
