Not quite the same as shooting someone though is it? It’s spine-chilling to hear activists in Portland cheering about the cold-blooded murder of a Trump supporter Saturday night. “I am not sad that a f–king fascist died tonight,” a woman shouts into a megaphone at a BLM-Antifa gathering after a man was shot dead nearby. “He was a f–king Nazi. Our community held its own and took out the trash.” Videos posted by independent journalists Andy Ngo and Ian Miles Cheong show an American flag being burned in celebration as the crowd revels in the news. Online video appears to show the murder. You can hear a man’s voice: “We got a couple right here.” And then two shots ring out. The victim, identified as Aaron Danielson, reportedly was wearing the cap of conservative-libertarian group Patriot Prayer, whose caravan of pickup trucks festooned with flags drove through the city that day.
No it's not the same, but obviously there's events on all sides that are despicable. Not all Trump supporters are criminals and neither is everyone else. The man who shot Aaron Danielson also had a police record and was later shot and killed by the police. Two people shot and killed. Two lives lost, yet Patriot Prayer remain a pro gun group. "Danielson was shot twice, allegedly by Michael Reinoehl, a 48-year-old man with a police record who expressed support for antifa online. Thursday night, Reinoehl was shot and killed by police who were attempting to arrest him."
Don’t disagree , the US currently is at war with its self and as long as it doesn’t affect my mental and physical well being then let them get on with it , I’m just looking forward to having normality back into mine and those who I care about lives
Whatever ‘goodwill’ many people had for Trump has surely been ‘tested’ by the events of yesterday ....
Most definitely he hasn't helped his cause nor his party , a bit like Blair/Brown tenure , people don't forget nor should they . I had sympathy for him after last summer/autumn events but thats dissipated now . Right now I'd say I'm indifferent to what occurring across the water
The problem is that since we now live in a world where borders don't exist in terms of the internet and media, anything that happens in America has the potential to effect us here - just like the BLM thing has. What started because of the George Floyd killing over there saw demonstrations start up here in the UK, and look where we are now.
Surely not , around the world we're seen as balanced, sensible, civilised, compassionate with a sense of humour and a knowledge of history ,understanding its context ,complexities and recognising the different morality between the generations . Then I woke up
