It sounds a bizzare title, but after watching the tory conference, a lot of their plans seem to be irrelevant in modern britain. In places it was like listening to some fantasy concept policies. It's not a new phenomenon, the previous government did it for 13 years. What's your take, are the government living in a dream world, where financial issues vanish with the wave of a magic wand, or are they being realistic with targets and financial projections?

Don't get me started on politicians and reality. Every day I see new evidence that they are so far removed from the real world that I have no idea how they can govern the country.

I am hoping the Occupy Wall Street movement spreads beyond America and we see a massive revolution where the economic wealth benefits the many instead of the elite few

Whats wrong with voting tory? They may not live in the real world, but they're a damn sight better than labour, who openly discriminated against us white middle class folk.

Labour are far more removed from reality. If they were in power, borrowing and spending would still be at previous unsustainable levels and the debt crisis would only get worse

All three main parties are out of touch with the public and none of the others will get power

So there is little alternative other than emigrating (which means learning a new language as it's hard to get into USA/Canada/Australia)

Well it can't do a worse job than their current leader, which has as much power as a potted plant.

would it? when the tories did their shadow budget when in oppossition, on every occasions they promised to match the money spent by labour.

When in opposition they refused to accept that the GFC was in fact a global event and laid the blame squarely on Gordon Brown's shoes. Now they are telling us that the problems in Britain are caused by global factors and they are not too blame. so which is it.

Also while i am on a rant, if it wasnt for Gordon Brown the uk would be part of the euro and would be ****ed (if it could be any worse). Tony Blair constantly tried to get the uk to adopt the euro and it was GB that stopped that happening.

rather than ****ing screwing the working class the ****s should be going after the tax evaders. that is the only way the uk will get out of the mess its in

We're heading into another recession. The Greeks will default on their loan, Spain and Potugal are next to go under, and we're all ****ed.

But on a brighter note, it's Friday.
