It would be vulgar of me to prove him wrong. I let him win for the greater good of the board. He has learned his lesson now, I’m sure he won’t return for more.
Resorted to just cycling through 5 or 6 random gifs now Peej? The palliative stage of forum poster lives. Won’t be long now bro.
The faster you peddle, the more bitterly frustrating and error prone Arsenal become. But if you slow down, they concede.
Yeah, wtaf is MTB? Was going to ask before, but thought I must be the only ****er who didn't know, and was afraid of embarrassing myself (yeah, I know).
For anyone who does indoor training on bike, Zwift have launched Tour of Zwift. Rides around the virtual courses, complete them all and get errr.........fit? One is Mont Ventoux simulation, 21km at an average gradient of 11%
This idea of indoor treadmills or bikes doesn't appeal in any way to me. If you're on your treadmill and lose a bit of interest and motivation after a couple of miles, you just stop. If you're out on the road and you've ran two miles, you've got to carry on to get home. I know the weather is ****e but getting out there is far better. IMHO of course.
Same on the bike. It's pretty hilly where I live and about 200 yards from my front door is a 1/4 mile hill at 12% at its maximum gradient. Nice to fly down on my way out but I know it's always there on the way back. And you ain't getting home unless you tackle it. I quite like those sort of challenges though, makes you have a word with yourself and dig deeper. Plus when I'm hitting the knock, head down and pedalling, I've got Mr T to remind me what time it is !
Personally I would rather get out, but the last 12 months has changed that for me. Home commitments, plus having to medical shield. Would love to be out on bike, but advised not to at moment. Zwift is a great motivator, challenges to get you on bike, ride with others (virtually) and be motivated to go and keep pushing.
I’ve never seen the appeal in cardio for the sake of cardio. I ****ing hate running along a road/treadmill/field/whatever, the most boring pointless thing I can think of. I don’t mind running round for a purpose like I’m playing a sport. Skipping is about the only cardio I can do consistently, short sharp interval training. Throw in trying to do some tricks and keeps me entertained for the 45 mins or whatever I spend doing it
Never been a fan of a treadmill, or running for that matter, not long distance running anyway. I’d count long distance as anything over boredom levels which for me is about 5 minutes. I don’t see what it achieves tbh, I can burn equal the calories of a 1 hour run in about 12 minutes with a skipping rope, or more if I put a small circuit together in a gym. Pounding the road for an hour a day in the freezing cold is my idea of hell, plus it would undo half my potential gains in the gym. I get it’s good for your heart on an aerobic level, but so is a bike.
