Burton have sacked manager Jake Buxton Here's hoping that new manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink either plays Jack Roles, or sends him back so he can get some playing time somewhere
I was pleased to hear Burton had re-appointed Jimmy Floyd. It means I no longer have to endure listening to him on Sky. As a pundit he was truly effing awful.
I never saw Colin Bell play live, and as was the nature of football in the 70s, I probably saw him play on the TV for England more than for City. Always a class act, graceful box to box player with an eye for a goal. 2 games that I particularly remember him playing in were the 1-1 draw with Poland that saw us fail to qualify for the WC finals in 74, where we battered the Poles but only scored a penalty but I do recall Bell played that night with great authority. I also recall a match with Scotland at Wembley a couple of years later where we battered them 5-1 under Don Revie, Bell played with Alan Ball and Gerry Francis in a very dynamic midfield that on the day were unplayable Bell scored and Francis scored 2 in a very memorable Home International Match. Great Player RIP
