One of benefit of criminalising anti - vaccine propagandists is that it would see Piers Corbyn in jail.
News today that Talk Radio has been shut out of YouTube. I don't like a lot of their output but some of their presenters, especially Julia Hartley-Brewer are good at holding Government ministers to account. I think it's a bad day for freedom of speech. It seems that COVID has been used as an excuse. It's breaking news but I expect to hear more later.
Well done the BBC Three hours of Primary School education from 9 to Midday, from 12th January, on CBBC. And 2 hours for Secondary level education each day on BBC2. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-55552962 It's only a fraction of what children will be missing. But it's better than nothing for the months it may take before schools can be opened again.
My lovely dry cleaning lady is Turkish, and her sister is sadly suffering from Covid. She told me earlier (socially distanced) that in Turkey the police have a Zero Tolerance approach to young people breaking their very strict lockdown rules. In her words, the police give these kids a good hiding for their irrresponsibility Unfortunately we live in a “tolerant, woke society”, where gross ignorance and stupidity is deemed a price worth paying for being woke - regardless of whether you end up dying from Covid. Can you imagine the reaction in this country in “certain quarters” if the Met pulled up outside of any KFC or McDonalds in London today, and started dishing out a few clips round the ear ?
Nicola Sturgeon tells Trump to keep the F**k away from Scotland https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-scotland-55553493 She's just gone up about 1,000% in my estimation. Well done Nicola
She is very big for her boots. The full truth about her and Salmond the piss head hasn’t come out ...yet.
YouTube has YouTurned. Talk Radio is back on their platform. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-55544205 Why were they kicked off - for broadcasting the views of anti-vacc callers? Or for some of their presenters holding those views?
It's still not clear but it's believed that it was because they give air time to people speaking out against the Government's policies and actions.
The daughter of a lady friend is a child-minder in Turkey. She had her colleague have just self-isolated due to a positive COVID result of the housekeeper. Luckily her employer owns several hotels and resorts so she has had a rather luxurious time, posting pictures of her hard life every day. There is a lot of COVID in that country.
Every country has its share of rule-breakers I expect. Even countries where the Police will break your head. Telling everybody to follow a set of rules they aren't used to offers an insight into the character of each person. The selfless versus the selfish. I think as a very general rule, those who are hardworking by nature and take pride in the help that their work gives to other people, rather than working primarily for personal gain, will be the kind of people most likely to follow pandemic rules. Unfortunately I don't believe you can beat selfishness out of somebody. I can understand why a lot of us wouldn't mind trying though.
Pictures today from Heathrow - flights to The Caribbean absolutely filled with people that originated from that region, no social distancing. So much for lockdown ...
Also a video of a demonstration in London with a woman complaining that white Police are approaching her. The Police are not helping themselves by the way they are handling it.
