Just out of curiosity. Where we have the no general politics* or relgion rule that other boards don't, can you delete threads that are multiboard? And if you do does it delete it completely or just from our section?

*ie we can complain as much as we want about the stadium situation but if we start campaigning in general we can't complain if it gets deleted.

I've just posted on there too about removing it. I won't be long for this board either if it ends up like CI or HCO.

I don't want to know people's political views on here. That was why I was on 606 and not the other city boards - if politics gets on - it becomes a slanging match between the left and right wingers, and the football gets forgotten.

I've got my political views - and I share them on political forums, not City ones ffs.

I only came on here to see about Waggy's injury.

Not looking good for Waggy, was watching the game, got stretchered off. They took the post down, if they want to have that on general chat fair enough but not where you click on it on our board and end up reading it- not the place for it.

If it's on the General Chat board, it's not something we can control.

If it's a thread started on here and made cross-board then we can edit/delete it. If it's started on another board and then linked here, we can ask the mod on the host board or the main admin, who will then remove it.

If it's a thread on here can you link to it so I can see what the issue is?

It was a cross-board, not general chat

It's alright DMD - I think they took the hint from a load of City fans asking the same question at the same time.

It was on the City board, but I've just looked at the thread again, and they've swapped us for Charlton, so it's gone now.

It's gone from here now, without getting too far into it, it was a cross board thread comparing punishments handed out for someone burning a poppy they owned as opposed to vandalising a mosque and several businesses, with some plum saying they should have carried the same punishment.

It's gone from our board, the guy was being a bit of a bell-end when I suggested it should be on general chat, at the end of the day the club boards are for the clubs anybody going on about religion can go do it on general chat

That's what I did when I saw what it was. Was still curious about what happens when we get one of those kind of threads that should be gone though. Thinking more about the potential for illegal threads, libel, or Gary Glitter's special interest for example where not being able to remove them leaves Mick in a position where he can be held accountable for it.

Good point, these idiots can ruin the forum for everybody, somebody who was concerned about what was written could take it further

As I understand it, as long as the site owner's taking all reasonable steps, the issue remains with who ever writes the post.

    Best just report and ignore.

As addressed in the opening post, general politics is off limits, the stadium situation is a political one which relates directly to the club and is therefore not subject to the limitation.

I posted this on the other thread, but I'll bung it up on here too:

I've been asking Mick to stop General Chat being an option on multi board posts, as have several of the other moderators.

We can't do anything about a thread that wasn't originated on this board, so if someone posts in General Chat and copies it to here(or any clubs board), then only Mick and Syd can pull them down. The moderators are all asking Mick to allow multi board posts to be moderated by the mods on any of the boards it's posted on, but apparently this isn't as easy as it sounds and it's still being worked on.

Personally, I'd be quite happy to see General Chat removed altogether, as would many other moderators, but Mick doesn't seem to want to bin this section completely.

I'd also like to see multi club posts limited to just two clubs, so they're only used for match day threads, with the moderators of both clubs being able to amend them.
