So schools are shut. Great! Guess I am back to 4 hours sleep a night/day/evening for 7 weeks. Hang on ... isn't that bad for your long term health?

**** knows what Boris and his chums expect me to do with the kids whilst both parents work and won't be allowed furlough? No child care open. Not allowed to use grandparents.

Guess I'm working nights and home schooling through the day again. Great times! I'll sleep in March then eh?

I just don’t understand the logic behind the vaccine rollout. Give it to the groups most likely to spread it first. Look at the top 3 groups, over 80, 75, 70. The easiest three groups to keep indoors, none probably working and all drawing a pension.

If they stay indoors let’s look at how they could catch Covid? Maybe a store delivery driver or care worker or the family member that needs to look after them which we’ll class as the carer. Give these people the jab first.

Give the vaccine to the shop workers in the supermarket, the delivery drivers, the care workers, the teachers NHS staff, bus drivers, give it to those most likely to spread it.

Give it to the plumbers and electricians that might enter a pensioners home, those still able to work or expected to through a lockdown should be first in the queue.

This isn’t about ignoring the elderly, I just see the over 75s as the easiest group to ask to stay indoors. If they need a hospital appointment or awaiting surgery they join the top group.

I think the reasons are that the 70's to death are more likely to have an adverse reaction to the virus and so protecting them and health workers is a good idea. The other thing I have read and seen people on the box suggest is that while the vaccine stops you developing really bad symptoms it may not stop you being a transmitter of the virus. I think that this later point is more particularly for nRMA vaccine, knowledge about this will grow as the vaccine is more widely administered.

Fully understand what your saying Rich, they know the injection will help you in not catching covid but they still don't know for certain if the injection stops you spreading it.

I'm a pensioner, Ristac and I don't stay at home, never have. I see your reasoning but must point out that pensioners today aren't like they were a few years ago. We don't all sit around the fire just waiting for God.

He's saying it would make more sense to prioritise the people who are out at work every day and give them the vaccine as they're more likely to spread the China virus as opposed those who are retired.

Exactly although my theory is floored if you can still spread it after having the jab. Ask 1000 x 75 year olds who are drawing a pension to stay home or risk spreading the virus and dying. Ask the same question to 1000 x 30something year olds with a mortgage and young family and you’ll get a completely different outcome but irrelevant I guess if you can still spread it.

I’ve been offered the Pfizer jab today. It’s not guaranteed yet, it’s to use up the end of day supply, I need to be there at short notice.

The only reason I’d have it is if you need to show proof to go abroad etc.

No point asking, they’ll only tell him what he wants to hear.
