I was thinking the same thing. Evans hasn't gone, he's just listed, and Barton publicly made him look like a ****. Reading between the lines I reckon they've had a big falling out and Joey has ruffled a few feathers with others also.
The league will be a poorer place without him imo, bit of a prick, but there was never a dull moment with him. Bad news for Fleetwood like.
seems like Frankie boy at Chelsea is due for the chop with Joey leaving of his own accord do you think there could be a link
I'm confused with this talk about how Joey Barton has done brilliant for Fleetwood. He took over after they finished 14th. He launched them all the way up to 11th in his first season. The next season the league was scrapped and his team was placed into the playoffs where they were knocked out by Wycombe. This season he has them in 10th. What is so good about that?
Its all a matter of expectations at the club. Fleetwood are (lets be honest) an incredibly small club, with very modest financial backing and a limited fan base. Fair enough, Barton hasn't done say what Eddie Howe did at Bournemouth, but to keep Fleetwood at the top end of a very competitive league 1 IMHO is a pretty decent job. As i've said, I despise the guy, he is everything that's wrong about a human being, but it would greatly disingenuous to say any other that he has done a decent job there.
Agreed it's not bad but it's not good either, probably no better than what Parkinson would have done with them. I believe Barton spent a fair bit too.
He's an average league 1 coach man! Nothing more nothing less. Unless you listen to a certain poster on here of course!! (not that he's been around for a while) - suppose that, in itself, makes the fact that he's gone a little strange
