No problem, I self-inject, delivered in a refrigerated van by Lloyds (not insulin, or anything illegal!) and would be confident of using the Covid injection. That aside I'm still of the opinion vaccination sites should be open 24/7. Time is of the essence, and a vaccination at 3am tomorrow morning is better than one at 3pm on Wednesday.

Rookie mistake, I know, I believed Bojo when he said yesterday Primary Schools were safe & definitely wouldn’t be closing, spent all day planning for making our open School as safe as poss. Our Snr School colleagues have spent their Xmas break planning for mass testing and tricky staggered returns to School. Time could have been spent on arranging top notch remote learning and key worker/vulnerable provision. I despair.

Time now to use the empty School buildings to get all teaching/education staff all vaccinated ASAP so we can get children back in Schools sooner rather than later.

What if shape-shifting aliens emerge from their bunkers signposted "Secret" with yet another strain?

Did Bojo mention anything about our 'world class' track and trace system managed by Dido Harding and help from Serco? Asking for a friend.

No mention of politicians. Someone may mention politicians our moderator approves of and he will have to busy himself deleting.

Depends on how restrictive with the rules for being a vaccinator, but as you say good first aid skill is important

One of my friends at BA applied to join the vaccination team. They have been selected to be trained. Seems having first aid training for in flight was a tick box... I've applied too and got a letter in early December showing the hourly rate etc...

Comparing this new lockdown to Tier4. Apart from Schools,Uni ect being closed I am.not seeing much difference to be honest as pretty sure vulnerable people were already shielding under tier4 anyway. Think they should of made face covering in the workplace compulsory as well.

Why are planes still arriving from South Africa?

This will be around for a few years yet in one form or another.

The history of pandemics says this.

Plagues in the middle ages were around for 3/4 years. Spanish flu ran for about 2 years.

We have vaccines on our side with this one, but disruption will be for some time yet.

2 weeks too late again. Would've been nearly half way through a 6 week lockdown if they'd done it before xmas. Yet again, locking down late means you've got to lock down longer, ****ing shower.

Once the majority of the popn is vaccinated, then Covid will be similar to seasonal Flu, where a small percentage will catch it, smaller be hospitalised and smaller still pass.....In theory.....

Agree and that's the hope. We'll just be living with it from now on and a new vaccine will need to be made or existing one tweeked each time a variant arises.
That's essentially what the current flu jab is - best (informed) guess of the what the strain could be.
My real hope is that conspiracy theorists and those who wish to spread false or misleading information/opinion think first, they won't though sadly.

They did say when questioned on the launch of AstraZeneca vaccine that in the case of a variant they could tweak the vaccine accordingly...
