For me the fact that he should English should not be a choice it should be mandatory. If all the players have to be of that nationality to play for their nation why can the manager be foreign. Each nation should have to have a manager of their own nationality, its their ability to bring the managers through as well as their players. Never understood why Fifa allow foreign managers for a national team, makes no sense.

That's better than Charles Stokell, he can barely muster 30 seconds.

I would like to see Harry Redknapp become England boss, possibly the best English manager around at the moment.

Do they? Almunia was being touted as playing for England due to the length of time he has lived here, and I seem to recall there was talk of Arteta being able to play for England too. I may be talking bollocks though

Bo's not really an American, he happened to be born there, but his mum's Welsh and he moved back here as a baby.

NOPE. you got that spot on. both can but i dont agree with it. England is for the English.

i would like FIFA to bring out a rule that all the major nations must be from that country. developing countries need some help but if England cannot find an English manager then whats the point. Give the job to Harry but his staff should be made up of future English managers. People like Bryan Robson - Paul Scholes who have the respect of everyone.

I dont buy the whole must be English arguement, would you knock back Fergie if he applied, most sucsessful British manager? Most other sports pick the best coaches regardless of place of birth and achieve results, only football (and maybe rugby union) seem obsessed with it

Personally I dont think we have a good enough English manager
Redknapp - buys teams doesnt produce teams
Alerdyce - No real European experience, very limited in his strategies
Pearce - Lots of international experience playing and with U21, but never massaged big egos, limited big job experience
Hodgeson - Lots of experience in different areas of Europe, failed badly with Liverpool

For me I would go for Mouriniho or Huddink, proven managers, great with players, and tactical astute

    Harsh but quality.

He's Welsh and he's also a proper nob. The same argument applies with him as Redknapp; he's bought his team at Stoke.

I agree with all of this.

, it seems all you have ever needed to do was go on a dayout once to scotland or ireland and you qualify for them.

Reminds me of Jamie Wood playing for the Cayman Islands, not sure what he ever had to do with the place until he won his cap
