No because they dont need to vote until end of January as thats when the current powers come to an end (unless they get extended again obviously)
Vaccination centres should be working 24/7, and those that self-inject ( diabetics, biologic etc) should have the vaccine delivered to them, now! If they told me to attend at daft o'clock I'd be there, sleeve rolled up.
And the number of available 'vacinators' which may be the another problem. ( & self-injectors might not be so good at dealing with side effects / anaphylaxis)
Should have planned ahead I had bloody loads of empty glass objects after Christmas. They could have used them for free!
I struggle a bit to get my head around the logistics of all this vaccine stuff. Who is making the stuff? Is the 'recipe' farmed out to loads of manufacturers? As well as our own requirements what about world demand? How/when can that be satisfied? I can't think of a bigger issue that's faced the world for, well, hundreds of years.
I know she was a politician, but take that bit away and Betty Boothroyd on SKY news is quite funny. The news presenter couldn't get a word in once she started. Straight talking Yorkshire woman.
Injections are different. Being competent in one technique does not make you automatically competent in another. There are lots of variables to consider, the main ones in this case will be the size of needle & how to inject. Insulin is normally administered subcutaneously into the abdomen with very fine needles. The covid vaccine will be administered intramuscular into the upper arm, with a bigger gauge needle. It is a far more difficult technique (actually hitting, penetrating & administering all the vaccine into the muscle). The absorption of the vaccine will be dependent on how well it is administered. Sub-cut injections absorb far slower than IM injections. The safest & most suitable injection route is selected as part of the R&D process. Mis-dosing & administering the vaccine sub-cut could potentially make the vaccine less effective.
I’d imagine the AZ vaccine is being manufactured by AZ at their manufacturing plants. Their UK plant is in Macclesfield.
Seems Hancocks best pal or next door neighbour restructured his business to supply the vials.... or seemingly not as the case may be...
