But even Alan Hansen admitted that the squad in ***an's last year was pretty poor and needed fresh blood to get it back to its previous heights. Its easy for people to say in hindsight that anyone could've done that job, but Souness was asked to do a similar job to Dalglish and failed spectacularly.
