Completely agree badger A threat for the opposition is giving us a free kick outside the penalty area, ready for JWP. For us there seems more of a danger conceding a free kick 40 yards out on the wings. Caught out a couple of times against Brighton and in games since. It's a close your eyes moment and sure something Liverpool would have picked up on. Hopefully something we are working on.
There may well be a sharp intake of breath during the game followed by a phew or a ah **** we'll see.
Could really have done without City winning comfortably today. Liverpool tend to do a “anything you can do...” thing with them.
A number of teams now employing the tactic for these free kicks of having a high line of attackers who don’t move and deeper players who run at the defensive line Key position is our first man as the ball must never get behind the line below head height We keep getting the offside trap right so far. I’d say the issue is that if we go deeper then they do the same thing but end up nearer our goal and accepted wisdom is you never go deeper than 18yd line Man City we’re doing same v Chelsea
Come on Big Fraser, you’ve got this!! This was his first game back the last time he’d been out the side. I was there that night too.
omg, im getting nervous now. It is all becoming real the closer to kick off I simply had no issues yesterday.
I don't really get nervous when we play the top teams. We are expected to lose, we will probably lose, they coud thrash us if they turn up. So anything other than that is a bonus.
If we can't get a point or three, I will settle for a low score and a good performance (especially from Forster for his own sake and because we need a good back up keeper).
I upset my Gooner brother in law and nephew that night. I met them back in the little carpark we found and greeted them with a, “**** me, you were lucky to get away with a point.” Police are still looking for my fingers
I really hope Fraser enjoys himself tonight and puts a marker down that this is the start of getting his place back as a regular Saints keeper. He is a really nice guy, played very well for Celtic and clearly wants to be here so it will be great if all Saints fans get behind him and support him as much as possible.
I’m not a Fraser knocker, never have been, but even I’m pretty sure the “clearly wants to be here” part is influenced somewhat by a large salary.... I agree with your sentiment though about wishing him a great game. It would just about be the biggest achievement for Ralph if he’s worked his magic on Fraser too.
Quiet on here for a match day. Buggered the dishwasher game up this morning, so I am glad it isn't related to how Saints get on and is just bullshit.
I’m all for supporting whoever plays in the team, and Fraser will have me singing tonight, but let’s be clear, Fraser isn’t what we need going forward, and whilst not his fault, is a huge drain on our finances. I hope he plays a blinder, MOTM display in a 6-1 victory, and puts himself in the transfer window in as nice little slutty number just above the knee and below the titties. Just enough flesh to tempt maybe a Leeds or Sheff Utd to try...
Seriously, we need to consider dropping you from the starting line-up. This is one too many poor performances of late. Maybe we can speak to Miele to put you on a strict, fast track training regime. I had heard it was to do with a bad attitude, you getting complacent
