We can’t cancel the loans, only the parent club can. Plus Mawson (who since injured, we’ve gone crap) is due back soon as well as Baker. On the subject of Baker (before someone criticises his injuries) , his injuries are only normally one game traditionally so this is a rarity for him out this long. He puts his head in and body into tackles which is probably the cause of his injuries. Someone put up something on OTIB which showed his injuries and 9/10 he gets injured during a game but ready for the next game it’s not as bad as we think.
I actually think Baker is our best centre half. Absolutely quality -Kalas -Mawson that is some central three-think you will struggle to find better.
I was reading a thread on OTIB that was talking about Bannan which showed a thread on Owls Talk. Apparently he is ok but seems to only become this world beater when he’s playing against teams like us. A few think he’s not that good and only likes playing against teams who don’t stick their foot in. Hence probably why he don’t get a lot of offers as he’s not as good as we think he actually is.
Bristol City, Blackburn Rovers among trio eyeing up Manchester City player https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/b...-among-trio-eyeing-up-manchester-city-player/
I would sooner see us go for a more established player? [older ]… should this be a position we will pursue. WITH 5 subs allowed DH has been a bit tentative with playing the youngsters already on the bench. younger players seem to have the raw energy to "pull something off" when given the chance... we have seen glimpses of that in past seasons with some of the home grown players now... Palmer was on bench and not used yesterday they seem not to use many subs … stick with playing 90 mins...!
A young CB is always a gamble to bring into a side, especially one that has had such an unsettled back 3 or 4 as we have this season due to injuries. The proximity of Blackburn and Preston to Manchester would probably mean he would chose one of those 2 anyway.
Bristol City recall full-back from Portsmouth loan as former West Brom midfielder is released Dean Holdon continues to battle against a crippling injury list at Ashton Gate https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-recall-full-back-4851833
Please Mr Ashton; give Deano a leader - a 'midfield general' 'enforcer' type. Someone to keep the opposition occupied and worried and so release our other tricky but lightweight midfielders to feed the strikers.
Bristol City recall Hakeeb Adelakun from Hull City as latest Robin returns to Ashton Gate Winger rejoins parent side for the rest of the campaign. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport...s/bristol-city-recall-hakeeb-adelakun-4853502
and Marley Watkins according to this report. This will certainly give DH options, and some players the chance of a break, which is much needed or the injury list will only grow.
Bristol City are the only club who have ever paid a fee for Marley Watkins, £1million. He's had 11 transfers/loans between 8 different clubs. Interestingly one of the clubs were Barnsley. Add to that the £12grand a week screams of another absolute waste of money. Junior got the sack - he's paid for it. Ashton seems bombproof.
Adam Nagy linked with CSKA Moscow Adam Nagy is being linked with a move to CSKA Moscow today. Surely the Robins wouldn’t let another midfielder leave this window would they, given their injury problems? We’ll have to see. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport.../cska-moscow-interested-bristol-citys-4854523 please log in to view this image
Lets hope not, as Nagy is one of our better players.......Been there done that...just ask our last coach!!
I think we know that if MA gets a good offer, he will sell. Maybe that's why so many players are being recalled. How much did we pay for him, and what fee is being touted around for his sale?
