Apparently he is still ‘weeks away’ from starting to return to fitness. He also posted a video in support of Bruce where he seemed to be speaking and breathing fine. the official line is he has had Covid.. but he’s also quite young and most his age shrug it off quite quickly. He’s also in France too. so what is going on? Is he away in Jan? has he spat his dummy out and gone on strike? If he had that club would cover it up surely so the fans and press don’t have a field day.
It’s a bizarre one. He’s usually quite vocal but has not been lately. I suppose we have to accept he might be away. There’s something not right is there. If he has or had covid surely he wouldn’t be allowed to a) travel to France and b) stay at home and isolate? Not be with his family?
He is off. If he had long Covid he wouldn't be allowed to travel, especially since the North East has been in tier 3 since November?
You don't have to quarantine or isolate with long covid. It doesn't refer to the infection lasting longer, just the effects on your body. I read a news story about a British olympic athlete who was one of the first to be diagnosed with Covid way back when it first began in this country. They still aren't back in training 8 months later because of the effects. They are no longer infectious or under any restrictions but their body still hasn't recovered. Apparently, long covid is more likely to effect the young and healthy, even if the initial effects of Covid were not all that serious.
I just can't imagine both the club and the player going along with this if it wasn't true. I'm not saying he isn't off in January or that the club aren't known for smokescreens, but I think there would be ramifications if they lied about this. I also can't see how he could travel if he travelled while still testing positive so not sure about that, unless he tested negative before travel? Some people have tested negative less than 7 days after their infection was announced. I think it was about only 9 days for Lewis Hamilton as an example. It's a worry if the story is true though. There is no guarantee these people will ever recover full fitness.
Found the story I read about the Olympic athlete.... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rowing/54702500 Also saw this where it says there are many elite athletes in this situation.... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/54872855
I’m not really arsed either way. This league is not for him, he’s too lightweight and can’t handle being targeted. Gets injured far too easily. If we can get good money for I’d sell.
This just smacks of the Yohan Cabaye ****, ie in 2013 when Arsenal made an offer for Cabaye and we turned it down and he immediately had to come out of our team vs Man City because he had "had his head turned". Bullshit, they just wanted to make sure he didn't get injured so they could make Arsenal pay the most they could get out of them. This is also clearly a smokescreen, "weeks" is a time period that conveniently covers the January transfer window, and they just want him uninjured and in the shop window.
It’s a well known fact he’s had a massive fall out with Bruce. It’s SB’s superior tactics again. We will get some sort of lower league clogger to replace him no doubt.
I spoke to a couple Army PTIs who'd had it. They were knocked out by it - couldn't run properly even weeks afterwards. It can hit you pretty hard, even if you don't end up in the ICU.
It damages your lungs even in mild cases. There is a common misconception that it's "just like flu". No chance. It causes a lot more damage.
