The Syriza government tried to declare themselves bankrupt 5 years ago, but the French and German banks who owned their debt, backed by the ECB and the IMF, put enormous pressure on them to accept a bail-out they didn't want.

They should stop promising the unattainable, just makes them even more inept.

 

Largely because the media would keep hounding them for a number, and accuse them of not having a plan if they didn't provide one.

I'm totally in favour of politicians being accountable, and have their feet held to the fire, but I don't believe the media are doing that, they're simply searching for sensationalism, and acting as an unelected opposition with their own political agenda, rather than searching for facts.

The BBC was caught using a stooge to lie on their behalf yet again recently, and didn't even bother to apologise or remove the fake news they'd published.

 

The BBC are an utter disgrace.

Totally overrun with Lefty Loony Wokes.

Defund them.

 

I watched a BBC4 production of the Chekhov play "Uncle Vanya" the other day. Worth the year's licence fee on it's own.
