Moussa for all his energy and commitment he is a 'bust'. Sorry to be so blunt, but with our high press game; we need all 10 outfield player's doing their assignments and he just runs around looking clueless. He seems a likeable guy and l sincerely wish him a long and fruitful career, but he is not EPL standard.
I really wouldn't write off Djenepo at all. He's 22, he's still adapting to the PL, he's had a few injuries, he lost his mother a few months ago. He's shown he's got the ability in flashes of brilliance. Give him a chance FFS.
The fact is we've got to be patient with Djenepo. He's not had it easy since coming here and injuries have held him back. At the moment his feet are quicker than his brain. He gets into great positions by getting past players then doesn't quite know what to do next. But I can see so much potential in him and I'm assuming Ralph does too. If we sold him it would a huge mistake IMO.
It took Ralph at least 18 months to get the team understanding and doing what he wanted. That includes JWP, Romeu, Vesty, Alex et al.... so yes, Tom is right, let’s be patient with Moussa unless of course someone had their car started trashy to take home to Leicester with Vesty One of the frustrating things for fans is possibly how many times Moussa loses it when in the final third...... what’s the one thing we’ve been missing or at least wanting more of recently? Someone with some magic in the final third. creative talent gets battered in this country
I expected the responses put up on here and l can agree with the sentiment being expressed for Moussa by Tom but, in all honesty, l think he just falls short of where he needs to be. I am not bashing him and l would love to be proven wrong, but l felt the same Boufal and Ely and when l raised conerns then, l got the same responses as l have seen today.
Conversely some fans were also expressing similar concerns about Sadio Mane for a while when he first joined us and I see a lot of his qualities in Moussa.
I think Mane showed far more far quicker than Djenepo personally. Djenepo shows his skill far too rarely imo and comes across as more of a pace merchant. Fwiw I kinda agree with both Tom and Romsey, he does need more time and I've not given up on him yet. I'm far from convinced by him though and he wouldn't make my XI if everyone fit at present.
Who would you put in the starting 11 in his place? I do agree he needs time, but I'm not sure atm. Hopefully he can come good.
