Not sure about us being slack possibly more that Watford had to come at us to get something from the game , the sides in the top 8 are all more than decent in their own way , Watford no exception
The reason why Lowe pointed to the rear of the goal after scoring By all accounts, Ben Foster has his heart set on a career in punditry when he hangs up his gloves. The 37-year-old has been uploading videos to his YouTube account 'Ben Foster - The Cycling GK' in recent months and the channel has got increasingly popular. The former England international's channel is just a bit of fun, but it's finally come back to bite him. Foster and Watford endured a miserable afternoon in South Wales as they were beaten 2-1 by Swansea City. Tom Cleverley had actually opened the scoring for the visitors, only for Jamal Lowe to hit back with a brace. First, he scored a well-taken curling effort before heading in from Korey Smith. That might sound like a run-of-the-mill afternoon in the Championship, were it not for a world-class moment of rustling from Lowe after his first goal. Come the end of the season, Watford might look back on the defeat as a pivotal moment in the race for promotion. But their goalkeeper will be watching it back a lot sooner than that after Lowe decided to celebrate in front of the GoPro which he keeps near the goalline to record his footage.
Another good win against a very clinical, physical Watford side who have ideas about a quick return to the money pit....to lose our ex Man City academy player at kick off meant a major reshuffle and in fairness no player let us down...the ref on the other hand seemed to see our tackles as dirty fouls most of the time whereas the Hornets were getting away with it. Lowe took his goals well and Connor again had a blinder...the pitch helped to allow us to play some good stuff....happy days again
Lots of comments on my stream about the new pitch. All of the comments said that it was very slow and didn't have much bounce. I also noticed that many players seemed to have problems keeping their feet when trying to turn quickly.
Don't give a sod, ..... I am happy tonight.....we won, blame the pitch when we lose,.... good enough for Spurs, good enough for us.
For me I’d love to win the Championship but all I see in the PL is a season of struggle and probable relegation, coupled with an exodus of the better players at the end of the season - leaving us back at square one again in the Championship. At least the Championship is winnable by pretty much all the clubs whereas the PL is just an attempt to see if you can finish 9th if you have a miraculous season.
It’s something that I consider, I quite like being in the Championship. However, if it’s purely & simply being thereabouts for the promotion push & the excitement/interest that develops, that’s always worth being where we are. It’s certainly not the promised land for me, too many mercenaries, average players on exorbitant wages & all that play-acting/cheating, it’s sickening. But if it means being at the ‘top-table’ for academy development & investment, bring it on. Not just for the Swans, but for the benefit of our national team too. I want a World Cup & I want to qualify regularly. If we can produce those home grown, immense. The final reason, if getting promoted means the Yanks try & flip us for a higher dollar, bring that on too!!.. Just want rid of those cvnts choking this club to death...
My only reason to go up would be to try and sell the club and get some proper football owners in. We can all dream
Looking at the positives we won this hard game today against a pretty decent methodical and physical Hornets team. Manning had seconds to prepare and settled in well and so did Bidwell in the back three. Connor had a blinder and so did Smith....they all played well. Negatives....two weeks off as the Stevenage cup match is a break at this level unless Cooper takes it that seriously. I think our American owners have realised that instead of asset stripping which was what they have been accused of they have tried to make the club viable not spending what isn’t there especially in the circumstances.... The squad is a good dal stronger than last seasons with less loanees. Onwards and upwards
