I think the commentator was correctly appalled, he should’ve got more weight behind it. “That was a really terrible punch by Sprake!”
Watford have signed Danish winger Philip Zinckernagel on a five-and-a-half year contract. He joins on a free transfer from Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt and officially begins his deal when the transfer window opens on 2 January. The 26-year-old scored 19 goals as the club won the top-flight title for the first time in their history in 2020. Zinckernagel could make his debut for the Hornets in the FA Cup round three tie at Manchester United on 9 January.
Good name. Aswan Zinckernagel. Change of name by deed poll coming. I think we are going to go berserk in this one and score 3. 3-1 to the Swans.
I can see another draw here, 1 -1. Watford should have the edge, all things considered but then again I have no idea!
He looked majorly out of his depth earlier in the season, but he was played on the left of a back three, which he struggled to understand and that affected his whole game. His passing has been dreadful. He’s picked up though as the LCB in a 4-4-2. Where did he play for you guys and did you rate him?
Yeah, I think he’s better suited to that role. He did well against Norwich. I think the way we played before: 3 x CBs, and then then 2 x wingbacks, only proved to confuse him. His confidence was low and he couldn’t pass for toffee.
Twin town is my fav film, might watch it again if we win today. ¡¡COYH!! Good luck for the REST of the season lads.
Thanks for the foreword yet again Taff. Proper oldskool 6-pointer neither can afford to lose. Tight game won and lost in MF IMO. Bennett, Guehi have been immense so far, JL needs to gamble on the through ball. SWA 1-0 WAT
Almost 43 years ago: Tosh’s first match in charge was against today’s opponents, Watford managed by future England Manager, Graham Taylor. There were more than 15,000 at the Vetch. I was on the North Bank, almost opposite the players’ tunnel. A 3-3 draw and both teams promoted at the end of the season (Watford as Champions)
Joel Latibeaudiere makes his second Swansea City start as he comes into the starting line-up for this afternoon’s meeting with Watford. The defender replaces Ryan Bennett, who misses out after picking up a hamstring injury in the midweek draw against Reading. That is the only change from the goalless draw with the Royals, while Morgan Gibbs-White is named among the substitutes as he features in a matchday squad for the first time since October following a foot fracture. Young defender Cameron Evans is also on the bench. You can view the official team sheet HERE. Freddie Woodman is in goal, with Latibeaudiere lining up alongside Ben Cabango and Marc Guehi in the Swansea defence. Connor Roberts and Jake Bidwell will provide width from wing-back, with skipper Matt Grimes again joining up with Jay Fulton and Korey Smith in midfield. Jamal Lowe and Andre Ayew lead the Swansea attack.
