even with Var it didn't look like a pen it showed you that Pogba was pushing his hand into the Villa lads face first and there was no contact from the Villa lad
It’s getting silly now. It wasn’t a pen. It wasn’t even a tackle. They where running next to each other and PP tripped himself up. It’s got to the point now where when a team is in the box they might as well give a pen automatically.
you can understand why the Ref Michael Oliver pointed to the spot, he only has one quick view of it but to go to Var and see it from different angles and still say it was a pen is mystifying what can he see that no one else can he missed the hand in the face of the Villa player before Pogba tripped over his own feet
Once technology intruded the game was finished. Goal line technology yes. Everything else no. Human error has always been part of football. It is the standard of refereeing thst declined alongside stupid rule changes.
Stupid thing is that they say var is technology and progress but it doesn’t take away the fact that the decision is still made by a human and can still be open to dispute so is it really helping. Goal line yes as it takes away opinion and potential error/ bias. It just alerts to the clear fact that the ball has crossed the lines.
I can’t see a NUFC without Mike Ashley sadly. We need to prepare for the worst and then anything more positive is an upside.
