See the word disproportionate speaks volumes, it stinks of conspiracy and unearned gain.

If you said a lot that would sound much saner and be accurate without any undertone.

United's penalty claims really do stink. Try to stop Pogba tripping over his size 17 boots!

If you look at the figures for say the last 10 years it suggests who gets penalties is spread around as you might expect. Developing conspiracy theories ignores the realities. Bias of referees is a popular idea and it's based on very little. All teams get bad decisions and fortunate ones it's the nature of football. The way penalties are awarded is the bigger issue as is cheating. Not giving fouls to players who stay on their feet is another that encourages diving. Suggesting teams like United or Liverpool are favoured just sounds like sour grapes to me. You could argue for example that Spurs received advantageous decisions that got us to the final of the CL or you can argue that they were right. It won't make any difference but concentrating on the real issues of hand ball and VAR does change the game.

We spent more time attacking under Poch, yet we weren't averaging 21 penalties a year

In fact, we didn't get 21 penalties during his entire tenure

Personally couldn't give a toss how many penalties other teams get.
All I know is that we rarely get them...2 penalties in the premier league at home since April 2017!
We have been denied nailed on penalties v Liverpool, Newcastle and Bournemouth which everyone agreed were nailed on.
I think it is fown to the **** level of refereeing personally.
The complete lack of consistency is a massive issue.
We received an apology for not being given a penalty at Bournemouth last season...like that makes up for the loss of 2 points.
The ruling out of Kanes goal at Sheffield United last seasonand the allowing of the Brighton goal this season show how crap refereeing standards are (whether it be the on the pitch ref or the VAR ref)
I do not have the same view of European football as I think those refs are consistent and apply the laws correctly far more than the prem refs to.
And imho virtually every club could point out similar examples...so I do not think that it is a favouritism issue.

RCL's position is far more realistic than the conspiracy theorists. I just blame the games authorities rather than referees. That's not to say that some very poor decisions are made but that's what humans do. 70 million Americans support Trump FFS how much more do you need to know about the level of discrimination and decision making of large numbers of humans. It ranges from the don't care who don't inform themselves at all, to the selfish who just think of their own positions. Such a shame for the 30 to 40% of decent intelligent humans who have to suffer the consequences created by the idiots. So, talking of football, do you REALLY expect unbiased, fair, intelligent decisions? Welcome to the world.

We didn't get a penalty at Old Trafford for 65 years or one against Man Utd in any competition for over 30.
That's not swings and roundabouts, is it?
All teams get bad decisions? So why didn't we get one up there that gave us a penalty?

42 penalties in two years is ridiculous. Klopp's had 46 at Liverpool in 5 years.
Is Ole more than twice as attacking?
It's a massive outlier with every other team and every other period in the Premier League. It doesn't make any sense.

Add to that how, since March, the two biggest excuses don't work anymore
    - There is no crowd to influence the ref's decision
    - The ref has VAR to determine how much of a dive it is

And yet refs are doubling down regardless, making them little more than Toby Young with a whistle

I would like to see the comparison with 20,30,40 other teams to see if this is significant or not. I would imagine most teams have a very negative set of stats at OT. Perhaps a job for @RDBD

I'd agree that most teams have a negative set of stats at Old Trafford, even when Man Utd were ****.
Funny that, eh? Also doesn't fit in with the idea that these things even themselves out.

I don’t know about the last 10 years and haven’t mentioned Man Utd and penalties before but when I saw that stat last night, it shocked me that they’ve had so much. I’m not suggesting any conspiracy, Diego first mentioned that word. I just think for one team to have so many penalties in such a short time compared to every other team is outrageous.

The idea of things evening themselves out has been proven to be bollocks for decades, in fact it goes back to well before the Premier League era

It was (IIRC) the 1952-3 season where Southampton should have gone 1-0 up in an early season match, but because the nets at The Dell were so tightly strung the ball hit the roof of the net and ricocheted back out so the ref assumed the ball hit the crossbar and play continued, and the opponents promptly went up the other end of the pitch and scored the only goal of the game

Southampton were relegated that season on 33 points and a goal average of 0.8, while Bury stayed up on 35 points and a goal average of 0.654

See Fulham's next game is off too. Going to have a big impact if they don't sort it soon. I guess the FACup game will be forfeited if they are still out of action.

We've got between 0-9 penalties a season, while Man Utd have got between 3-14.
They didn't used to get that many under Ferguson, but rarely conceded them and almost never at Old Trafford.
Chelsea concede even less, for some reason.

OK I have checked over the last 14 seasons for 4 PL teams with following results Number of penalties scored.

    Spurs 53
    UNITED 71
    City 81
    Liverpool 66

So yes we do come out worse but is that because we are the least successful of those four teams? Palace do very well on the penalty front for example. Doesn't strike me as significant differences.

27 of Man Utd’s have come in the last 2 years. Again I’ll repeat that is a high amount and disproportionate
