Happy New Year. Welcome to 2021. Here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Simeone eyeing Rodrigo Atletico Madrid are on the lookout for a replacement for Diego Costa after the club reached a mutual agreement with the 32yo to terminate his stay with the La Liga giants. The former Chelsea forward's contract was set to expire this Summer, but he has asked Atletico to end his stay prematurely due to personal reasons. Sources from the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium indicate that Leeds record signing Rodrigo may be on their shopping list. The 29yo, although playing out of position in the attacking midfield role has already netted against against Manchester City, Newcastle and West Brom have certainly see Rodrigo begin to pay back his a large chunk of his fee already! Would you sell Rodrigo? If so, for how much? please log in to view this image Daniel James is a wanted man The Sun are reporting that Leeds, West Brom, Burnley and Brighton are all in the hunt for Manchester Utd's winger Daniel James. The 23yo has dropped down the pecking order this season, but was given a rare start against Leeds, and proved to be one of the best players on the pitch. It is widely believed that Ole Gunnar Solskjær wants the Welsh International to go out on loan to gain experience. Leeds have been chasing James' signature for two years, since the winger was practicing his trade with Swansea City. Is Daniel James going to improve the squad at Leeds? Who would want him at Elland Road permanently? please log in to view this image
If Atletico want Rodrigo then they will have to offer alot. If Rodrigo wants to go back then they probably need to bring £40 million. Don't want James. We have enough wingers and I don't think he is better than Raphinha or Harrison. We've got Poveda coming through and he is probably a little better than Costa. Waste of money when we could strengthen elsewhere. We've been linked with Tomori on loan as cover at CB.
Dan James was so 2020 and like Emu says we have a line of wingers already trying to get game time. Christancio Summerville is the only signing for the U23s that has not been a huge success. I have only seen him 3 times but not anything for months now. No explanation from anyone. Is he injured, has he gone home? Remember this 19yo was already a regular in the top Dutch League and we paid almost £1m for him, so can we please get some answers? Rodrigo will go only if he is unhappy and from what I see he looks like he is enjoying working under Bielsa. If he does go his price will be north of £30m and theres no money in Spain.... the transfer window is open and we haven't signed anyone yet. Any news Phil...
This from Focus on Leeds should help. The kid is now 17yo but has already played for England at ifferent age groups and also played for the U23s https://focusonleeds.com/2019/11/21/nohan-kenneh-future-leeds-united-and-england-star/
Afternoon all I see that it's lazy journalism season again. So we're linked with James and Tomori. Seems we keep on getting linked with them. If we do get Tomori I would be looking at him as a replacement for Berra or Cooper. As much as I like Berra the injury thing is a worry and he's not getting young. I've been 50/50 on Cooper but the injury thing is getting a problem and he is 30 this year so maybe it's time to trade him in for a younger model
I think Cooper is one of the players who have excelled under Bielsa, like Ayling and Dallas. Hes turned into an effective CB and now a full International, but in my view he is the 3rd or 4th best CB at the club. His main skill is as an effective club captain. I wait patiently for Llorente and Koch to fill the starting positions with Cooper and Struijk on the bench. Casey and Cresswell are close behind too, so I believe we have plenty of Cbs at the club and Tomori would only add unrest
Good afrernoon from a cold Bardsey I would liie to wish ev eryone a prosperous New Yea including Karen Karney I could never resist an attractive woman
My view on James is unwavering. He had his chance, didn't take it, & he is dead to me (and the club too, hopefully). The fact that the January signing bombed due to bastard Swansea playing silly buggers has got nothing to do with it. When we went after him in the summer, he had his chance to join us, but he took scum money instead. He can burn in the Hell that is Old Toilet. And as for the other guy, we only do loan to buy at best. We're PL now & don't want to add value to someone else's player.
So Carney has deleted her twitter account. That the most sensible thing she has done all week. If you can't handle it, get off it. And while you are at it have a think if punditry is for you because if you actually have any views on the game you will cop some flack from time to time. It's the nature of the job and if you are a good pundit then you should be upsetting people at times.
Tony Cascareno said this morning on Talk Sport that he disagrees with Carney because she made no sense. He said he spoke to Ben White last week and Ben White put it to bed once and for all by saying last season Leeds played over 50 matches and this season is like a holiday as no more two games every week and a smaller league. So Cascareno said she was out of order and Radz was in his rights to protect the reputation of his club
Took a wrong turn coming out of a lounge at ER last season looking for a loo. Stumbled across a room, I am guessing next to the home changing room. The players were all sat around listening while Cooper was giving a talk, Jimmy Bullard style finger waving and clapping his hands. This was after a win. Agree he may not be our best player but I have no doubts why the squad want him as Captain. Oh, and, Happy New Year one and all
Seems the reason she deleted her account is because some football fans from Arsenal, spurs and Chelse posted newspaper articles and photos of a woman's player who was racially abused by Carney in 2014. She was charged by the FA and fined. She told the player to **** off back to Spain. So as this lot hit the internet she decided to bale out. Now if a male ex player had been done by the FA for the same thing he wouldnt be doing the job. Women in sports want equality until they get found out by the public
Emma from LUTV should be the only woman allowed to comment on football, and let’s face it no one’s actually listening to what she’s saying
Heres something some may find interesting, especially if you were hoping for Carlos Corberan to take over from Bielsa. As we know Hudds were recently in the Prem but relegated and have had a dire time of it in the Championship, even though they have had parachute payments. In the Summer Carlos took over from the failure brothers who this time last season wee in 20th position after lay 26 games on 28 points. This season they have only played 23 games so far and are in 13th position on 33 points but played 3 games less. They are not far off the play offs so far but a vast improvement on last season. Is this is enough credibility to reward him with the Leeds job? I would say no if I were to compare what Bielsa did at Leeds in his first season, Carlos so far has only done half a job?
