Yes, but still only taking it over one season. If you look at Utd vs Liverpool, for example, they've said:

Utd - bought for £800 million in 2005. 523 points in six seasons since then so around £1.5 million per point.
Liverpool - bought for £300 million in 2010 plus £144 million in outside investment. 59 points in one season so seven million per point.

How in any universe can that be a valid comparison? Whether you include the cost of the acquisition or not, it's still comparing six seasons to one season. And it doesn't even look at actual spending, only external investment. So it's effectively rewarding the Glazers for not putting any money into Utd (not that they've needed to) and punishing FSG for investing in Liverpool to bring them back from near bankruptcy.

That faith is based on his prior connections to Liverpool and nothing else.

So you know that for a fact do you? You know sod all and understand even less. In addition to his previous managerial experience he has an intimate understanding of LFC, the club, the players and the potential but then you appear not to be able to understand any of that - idiot

Are Liverpool not one of the top 3 biggest spenders in PL history?

If so they would still of paid more per point than united, Arsenal etc...

Either way, Liverpool have not got value for money to often.

When was SAF not a fantastic manager? He was a huge success at both St Mirren and Aberdeen. His first five years with Utd weren't great trophy wise, but then that's more down to the state of Utd at the time. After all, even KPR was saying he thought it would take Dalglish at least three or four years to make Liverpool into title challengers - that's about how long it took SAF with Utd, despite inheriting a much weaker side.

Don't throw your toys out of the pram, Deirdre. It's pretty obvious for all to see, who isn't a scouse muppet. Dalglish's record as a manager, whilst not poor, is hardly groundbreaking either. Yet you lot see him as some kind of Messiah, because of his success as a player, and to some extent in a managerial role for Liverpool.

He did win the League with Blackburn, let's not forget. Bought or not.

    1 league title means nothing.

Rafa won 1 CL. He was terrible.

I wouldn't say he was terrible, for as bad as that team was in 04-07, he came away with a CL, CL finalist and FA cup ( granted we were WAAYYYYYY off the pace in the league!).

After Hicks and Gillett came in and he lost Paco it was all downhill. I really want a book with his side of the story in it. All we have is the Epic Swindle to go off of but he knows the ins and outs of it all.

Rafa was not terrible. He did make some baffling decisions, but his recored in Europe was outstanding. If you compare what Ferguson did in his first 6 year's at United to what Rafa did in his 6 year's at Liverpool it's not that different. He also revamped the youth system that is starting to produce the good's now.

Since leaving Liverpool the first time?

Nah its 1, I can assure you. 1995 with Blackburn Rovers.

His record since leaving Liverpool is poor, very very poor.

People seem to forget that in his first tenure of Liverpool management he inherited that team, not built.

His overall success ratio to his years in management is very good.

    Agreed?

That's what I was on about, doesn't matter about the state of the club because that could be said about us before Kenny took over.

Barnes, Beardsley and Aldridge were all signed by Dalglish. Also forgot Ray Houghton.

Looks like the building of a team to me all went on to be great players for the club.

They were mere additions to an already fantastic team.

Dalglish didn't have to break a sweat to keep a winning team going. Ferguson had to drag United out of the ****, there's the difference.
