Thank you. Like you say, let the boss look around, take it in, lay of the land etc. I'm sure even at 23 with a history and apprenticeship of football from a young age, he'll be absolutely buzzing with his new venture and in this climate, we should all be thankful he has decided to dip his hand in his very very wealthy pocket to buy us..... not say to the new boss basically "welcome aboard, right, we have half days on a Friday, every second Tuesday someone brings cakes to the meetings it'll be great if it were you next, erm Karen can't work Mondays because she has a pebble in her shoe, we always leave this radio station on and the old boss used to let us start at 10 on a Monday".

Any takeover news, or is this still the RAWA thread?

    Too right mate.

There's a protocol from the smallest 3 man company to the biggest corporation.

If The Bank of England appoint a new governor you can't have the Prudential Regulation Committee publicly putting out statements and asking for meetings before he's even hung his brolly and bowler up ...

... just think how the lads from the Monetary Policy Committee would be feeling <laugh>

The RAWA thing refers directly to the takeover, am I missing your point?

I've had a quick skim, but I will read it properly once I've finished these stinking end of year accounts.

One thing that should be done, asap, is for people to rid themselves of the cloak of suspicion that Donald & Methven threw over us.

BTW, I think I know three things that WMS don't know ...

... the date that KLD threatened to walk away, his age and birthday and the exact share percentage split.

Now, where did I put that car rental receipt ffs!

Agreed. As I said in my post yesterday, it very magesque and could’ve been written by Wraith himself.

Right. These answers might not fully satisfy but I've asked them and spoken on the phone to one of the committee members to raise them, so I've done what I can!

The statement wasn't directed at KLD as such, it was just an initial reaction to the news from the committee who agreed upon the wording. I suppose you'd say that mainly it was a reaction for the attention of the members of RAWA. It was posted to the website and linked via the twitter account. Naturally, it was expected that KLD would see it, but it wasn't felt that it was a negative statement or anything so they were okay with that. RAWA are very confident that KLD will have seen the statement and not have any issues with it.

In terms of why they released it before the takeover was officially confirmed, they just saw that safc were confident enough to comment, KLD had done the same, so they decided to release their comment as well. It might not look great if it doesn't go through, but that's very unlikely given the nature of the checks and the fact its highly unlikely that someone like KLD would fail them

Thanks mate, you've been great with all of this.

I've no idea how RAWA are so confident KLD will have no issues, having never met him though tbh. That again seems slightly arrogant which is the concern people have mentioned on both forums. It worries me more that he'll have seen the Echo, which carried the unedited version.

If it was expected KLD would see it then, in my eyes, it was directed at him.

I'd have thought it would be much more courteous, to all concerned, for KLD to be officially appointed and introduce himself to all of the supporters before people started jumping in suggesting meetings etc. It just makes RAWA look like they're the most important of all and pushing themselves to the forefront.

It smacks of elitism which I don't like, we're all Sunderland supporters and none of us knows best.

Anyway, thanks again mate, it's been a pleasure.

Good effort GG. Not much more to be said really, let's hope we can just concentrate on the football soon. Just on the bloody match man!

Happy new year everyone! Having a really boring one, not even having a drink which isn't like me but I'm sat on my own downstairs so not much reason to have anything. I'll keep a clear head and have fun with the bairn in the morning instead of my usual being hungover all day on NYD!

    Worst NYE ever mate.

Everything's shut, it's 12 30 here and Mrs Smug is fast asleep ...

... I could cope with all that but Mick Bubble is stinking out Jools Holland <doh>

Sounds bad! My lass normally stays up with me, we have a few drinks, last few years her oldest lad has been around for a drink and the littleun comes down about midnight because the fireworks wake him and he wants to see them. This year my missus has to work from 6:30 tomorrow morning so she's in bed, and her lad is 18 now so he's out somewhere. No point drinking on my own, but at least I'm not having to endure Buble, currently watching The Firm, decent film but I've seen it too many times. Happy New year to you and yours mate
