****s don't even realise that the whole thing has sold the prods of Norn Iron down the river. The main thing the DUP said at the start was, "as long as we are not treated any differently than the rest of the UK". I think we actually discussed this a couple of years ago, about how it couldn't work. ****ing incredible.

Based on the limited amount of discussions, I think that most people (and certainly me) simply have a very limited understanding of the issues there, so looking in to it generally means starting from absolute scratch, and even that is far from straightforward from what I can see.

To further complicate it, to anyone not directly involved, it's often really difficult to know what particular leaning the person you're talking to has, and it can be a sensitive subject, so people just tend to avoid it.

Point being, it's relatively easy to look at the Scottish issue, and the basic concepts of trade, be it with Europe or the rest of the world are easy enough to grasp, which means they get far more coverage in the media than the issues in Ireland.

The DUP campaigned heavily for Brexit, they were constantly told it wouldn't end well. We both did point out at the time how ridiculous it was. Up until recently I thought there must be something up their sleeves but nothing. A border up the Irish sea. They also convinced a good majority of Prods to vote leave, I've always said they're not the brightest

The differences are even starker when one considers how the respondents described their own ideological position and identity. Of those who identified as nationalists, 88% voted Remain, compared to only 34% of those who described themselves as unionists. And 87% of “Irish” respondents voted Remain compared to only 37% of “British” respondents. That said, voting was not only ethnonational. Both Protestants and Catholics were split – though Protestants were much more polarised.

I am ****ing amazed that this is your response to my comment. Why are you even mentioning the "Scottish Issue"? @Ciaran this is exactly what I am on about. The pro Brexit people claim they are pro Union, yet have sold NI down the river. I am more pro UK than the vast majority on here put together, yet they come out with this pish. It is a very sad day when a fenian bastard like you and an Orange bastard like me are agreeing, Big C. Time for me to go to sleep now though. The utter ****e on this thread puts us bigots to shame.
