To me they are actors playing a part, some better than others. Dick Van Dyke trying to do a cockney accent in Mary Poppins always gets me though.

I hate to miss an argument so my contribution is that the Director of Mary Queen of Scots said that she wouldn't direct an all white cast. I could say to Mark Lester that he only got the part because of his colour. He would, of course, argue that he got the part because he was the best candidate. He might well have been but his selection is tarnished by what she said. I think some of the reaction is because we have been force fed virtue signalling by the media this year. It seems that every advert must have a mixed race couple now for some reason. I think the vast majority of us do not need to have someone's ethnicity thrown at us at every opportunity. It's becoming ridiculous It is also ridiculous watching privileged Hollywood stars bemoaning the lack of recognition of artists of colours at the Oscars when it is them that are in a position to change it. Why do they moan to me about something wrong with their industry? The Director probably thinks she was making a stand for Actors of colour but I see it differently. She's saying that Black Actors can't help themselves, she needs to help them. They should be insulted. Ask Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington if they think they need help.
